That's Westminster (PA), by the way. Had it been Westminster (MO) that the Beavers were scheduled to play, their chances of a victory would be significantly lessened, as Westminster (MO) is the preseason favorite to win the SLIAC.

What's wrong, Prof. Pedantic, did you run out of posters to correct for writing preseason rather than nonconference?

OxyBob
Respectfully, I thought that Prof. Pedantic used the term "pre-season" correctly.   :)

There's two D3 members that play men's basketball that are called Westminster, Dr. Grumblepants. One of them is in Pennsylvania, the other one is in Missouri. There's thus no ready inference to be drawn as to which would be playing Caltech in Pasadena. And, as I said, it appears to be a distinction with a difference as far as the subject at hand -- Caltech's chances of winning a game this year -- is concerned. Hence, my post.

What a flashback. I had both Prof. Pedantic and Dr. Grumblepants during my sophomore year. Worst. Semester. Ever.

(Fortunately my T.A. Miss Shortskirt helped get me through it.)

For your sake, Bill, I hope that Dean Sterntongue never caught you lurking outside of Miss Shortskirt's office door.

He plays for North Park, right?

Does that really count as a game by which a team can "fall off the winless" list?   ??? ::)   ::)

Ralph,
Be careful or I'll sic Oxy Bob on you again!!! ;D

I see your Choctaws were taken to the limit by the visiting Sul Ross State Lobos(1-8).
Tied at 84 with 1:34 to go Mississippi College went to the line and hit 5 of 6 free throws to win it 89-84. Choctaws scored their last 9 pts from the charity stripe due in part because the Lobos couldn't get a rebound on several missed foul shots by Mississippi College. Choctaws with 24 turnovers were lucky to escape with the win.

Thanks for the shoutout for ASC basketball.

That was a crazy game.  You never know when there will be an upset.

Mississippi College has lots of raw talent.  I am worried about the guard talent the SRSU has gotten that got 24 turnovers out of Mississippi College.

The next hard test for Mississippi College will be against UMHB in Belton.  I need Mississippi College to beat them.  McMurry has a hard game at UT-Dallas today.

The ASC West winner hosts the men's tournament this season, so every game is even more critical.

Our lists took some minor hits the last couple of days

Undefeated stays at 11   -   thanks hugenurde for pointing out the Birmingham So. correction

Winless moves from 14 to 13, as Waynesburg beats Penn State Fayette and moves to the undefeated vs D3 list

Undefeated vs D3 moves from 9 to 8  as Whittier lost to North Park

Winless vs D3 goes from 22 to 21, with the addition of Waynesburg, but the deletion of Olivet (win over Finlandia) and Pacific (over Caltech)

I didnt realize UW-Whitewater had merged with Randolph-Macon to form a super D3 power.  They have chosen an interesting conjunction for their name, I would have gone with Whitewater Macon, personally.  I wonder how the logistics will work.

Sorry for this post but I am bored out of my mind on a cross-country flight while my daughter punches me in the arm telling me she is bored as well. I am looking for any type of amusement at this point. At least they have internet, I guess.

Nurdy    Glad I could provide a glimmer of amusement ;D ;D
