An observation and a note - I find it fascinating that after seven weeks of play, only 12 teams received votes - that's a pretty good consensus.

For the first time this year, the ten teams I picked all made it.

Yeah, I was shocked as well that only 2 teams received other votes (considering we had 5 last week). Early in the season is when we usually see numerous teams receiving votes, as we're only guessing which teams will be good considering we have little information about them outside maybe Kickoff. Then as the year goes on, and games get played out,  we seem to have a better understanding on who's good and who isn't. So it makes sense that our picks become more and more alike as the season progresses.

It happens every year.

Very difficult to come up with the 10th team this week.  For me it came down to someone from the IIAC American Rivers Conference being most deserving.  I went with Simpson over Wartburg and Central.  They have a decent loss to a rising Bethel and a 1 point loss to Central.  They beat Wartburg at Wartburg.  Central's blowout loss to a 2 loss Wartburg team removed them from consideration for me, and I gave the nod to Simpson over Wartburg given the outcome of the head to head match up a couple weeks ago.

I agree, it's hard ranking one ARC team over the other. I ended up going with Wartburg because they just destroyed a good Central team who Simpson lost to. That was tough for me to do considering Simpson beat Wartburg head to head, which I threw out once each team got their second loss. Also, since I have Monmouth higher than Bethel I think the Wartburg loss to Monmouth is (barely) a better loss than Simpson losing to Bethel. It's splitting hairs, I know, but that's just how I looked at it.

Then of course it took UWL losing for me to finally put them in my top 10 (at #9).

It's interesting that a couple people voted the Tommies at 6th.  As much as I like to see them get every kick in the teeth they can get, I reckon that's a bit rough.  I could see someone saying that UWO is on top of the Tommies, but to say that two out of Linfield/Monmouth/Whitworth/Bethel are also better than the Tommies is a stretch.

I ain't complaining.  And I'm obviously not a voter so keep my mouth shut most of the time (Ha!  As if.).  I just like to look at what you all think.

Based on the resume: record and SOS, I could see putting Bethel ahead of UST, but none of the others. I feel pretty confident we'll straighten that out with Bethel in a few weeks by punching them in the teeth, but as of now I'd allow it
I think there are a few who see UST as overrated and want to do their part to bring balance to the world.

UST is in a weird spot. Their resume so far is anything but impressive. They've only played one team so far that's .500 or better....and they lost to that team by 20. Their SOS is 136. Besides the SJU game, their schedule strength is pretty much all back loaded. I'm guessing people are waiting to see how they perform against these three remaining solid MIAC teams before giving them the benefit of the doubt. Personally, I have them third. I think they'll win out and finish with one loss.

Their last game should be a dandy at Bethel, with a Pool C bid going to the winner (most likely).

There is zero chance they'll lose to St. Olaf, and I would be very surprised if they don't Double Stomp GAC.  Bethel will be a bit more of a challenge, but I still envision a Stomp.

One thing that hurt U$T against the Johnnies is that they hadn't played a complete game.  They'd outscored opponents 306-28 up to that point.  No one had come out, moved the ball fairly easily, and scored multiple times on their starters.  Every time U$T would make a big play, the Johnnies would come out confident and respond.  That's tough on the psyche.

This is exactly why I have Bethel in front of St. Thomas. That, and BU seemed to be a better match for the Johnnies. Week 11 is definitely a showdown.

Agree with you on all accounts. But I think some on here are waiting to see how they do down the stretch, rather than assuming.
