Noticed defending D3 national champ Emory's off to another strong start.
U of Chicago's played WLC twice-and the Warriors have yet to beat the Maroons.
WashU pulls of the big win against Juniata. First win against them since 2005. Crazy 2nd set ended with a 41-39 score.

This poster heard of one game in a match outside of D3 that went as high as 50 before it finished. (Might have been NAIA, I'd need to look).

It's a wonder anyone had anything left in the tank after that one. (It probably gave them all the more reason to be thankful for the work they put in in the weight-rooms!) ;)
Concordia-Chicago went 5 games with U of Chicago-the Maroons came away with the win.
WLCALUM83 did you find out anything about that other game that you heard went to 50?
Wydown Blvd.
Highest scoring NAIA regular-season match: Urbana-OH defeated Wooster-OH 46-44 in 2004 (didn't find anything that went to 50--may have misheard something.)
Final just in: NCAA D2 squad Missouri-St. Louis beats Washington-MO 3 games to 1.

I think that was pre 25 set scoring... So different "section of the record book" but very crazy match anyway!

Emory beat West Georgia in 3 sets--per Eagle site:
Washington University dispatches of yet another ranked team, taking down No. 19 University of Chicago 3-2.
Does anyone know what the record is for wins over ranked teams in the regular season is? Or is that record too random or anyone to know or care?

No idea what the all-time record is, but here is a link to the 2010 top 25 matrix from the AVCA. Wash U's total this year is less than Wittenberg's and one more than Carthage. The latter two probably have the toughest schedules in the nation.

That matrix is great. Thank you. Any chance you might drive down to St. Louis for the championship this year?

There's a slim chance I will be there. I really hope I can make it.
The talk of St. Louis has been the "comeback Cardinals" and the improbable 11th World Series in 2011 but there is another big comeback to report. Washington University takes down rival No. 2 Emory University in five sets after falling behind 2-0 in the UAA Championship Match.
How about U of Chicago's chances for a bid? Will the UAA get 3 teams in?
The Maroons are a lock. The UAA could get more than those three, too.
