I was there. Trinity should have won it in three, they had a big early lead in the third set but lost a little focus.
2nd final:
Maryville-TN over UT-Dallas

University of Dallas was the AQ from the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
There is another AQ for UD from that conference.
I'll bet that the NEAC will be glad when the UD-contracted affiliation is over.
5th Final:
Trinity-TX over Emory
(25-20, 25-23, 25-19)
defending champs eliminated
Trinity-TX--Mittlestaedt 9 kills, 11 digs
Emory--Murphy 16 digs
and I'd like to thank UDallas for winning the NEAC championship, because if not for that this regional (and this game) would have been played at Emory.
Emory just couldn't put together many runs tonight. They also had more problems returning serve than you'd expect from the #4 team in the country. They had a four or five point lead midway through the third set but Trinity inexorably got back into it a point or two at a time.
Emory had some big hitters who saw a number of kills sail long.
It'll be a all-SCAC rematch in the South Region Finals as Southwestern easily handled Maryville, 25-16, -18, and -21.
Audra Gentry had 12 kills and 13 digs to lead Southwestern.
Kristin Findley had 12 kills, Katherine Nadler had 16 digs for Maryville (TN).
Southwestern has defeated Trinity 3-2 (regular season) and 3-1 (SCAC semis) this season.
Trinity-TX over Southwestern-TX (on the Pirates' home floor yet!)
