I know this is a women's volleyball board, but with the growth of men's volleyball in Illinois, does anyone think we'll see it added as a varsity sport soon?
It's been a varsity sport at MSOE for some 3-4 seasons already-- just heard MSOE and Carthage joined a new men's volleyball conference (Continental Volleyball Conference)

That's great! I coach boys volleyball and know that it is tougher at the D3 level for guys to find a school that has volleyball. I would guess that if a school has wrestling, it would not add men's volleyball unless they also have a sport to add for women.
Post results and updates here then as I don't think men's volleyball will get it's own section anytime soon.

Congratulations to the Red Men!
I think it's great they have a chance to become first ever men's volleyball National Champs-if they can get by UC-Santa Cruz. They've lost to them twice this season. Go CCIW!
Congrats to Carthage on their 2nd place finish in the inaugural D3 men's national tournament!
Heard both Carthage and MSOE won CVC matches last night (the Red Men knocked off ranked UC-Santa Cruz)

Carthage did not receive an at large bid to the NCAA tournament this year, even though they are currently ranked fourth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association. #14 Kean (25-7) will face Endicott (22-9) in the play-in match with the winner getting #1 Springfield College.
Big news out of North Central. They announced the formation of a men's volleyball, which will be played as a club sport next year and a varsity sport in 2016! Great news!
