UM-Morris, Auggie Tech, Mac, Hot Carls, and St. Scholastica at home?  What an awful home schedule.  I'll set the over/under for regular season points given up at Clemens at 7.5.

Though I am not thrilled at the caliber of this non-con matchup, I think the first year of the NPI showed us that, with the current "dial settings", wins carry the bulk of the weight, so it's not a bad move, especially considering that SJU needs to fill Syverson's monster shoes.

Quote from: SagatagSam on April 14, 2025, 10:26:51 AMFr. Don interrupted him and, without missing a beat, shakes his hand and says: "Blatzheim. Rice Street, Saint Paul." Then Fr. Don turned to Bill, and with a knowing smile and says, "Oh, we're going to have to keep our eye on you."

I can picture that in my head.  100% Fr. Don.  ;D

My first meeting with Fr. Don was summer of '99.  I worked on the grounds crew the summer before my freshman year.  Fr. Don was, as always, strolling around campus and socializing.  Rich Froehle introduced us, and Fr. Don, without missing a beat, asked, "Is your dad, Al, who wrestled here in the 70s?"  His ability to remember people was astounding!  He always referred to me as "The Pearl of Sartell."  ;D

Rest in peace, my friend.

Oh wow!  Sad, sad day.  Fr. Don is a legend.  :'(

Here is his obituary: Fr. Don Talafous, OSB

Rumor is that the Lamker announcement was made on April 1st.  ::)

Osseo has been terrible for several years.  And Auggie Tech...  I can't imagine this will help either program.  If I see Lamker in the 'hood, I'll ask him about it, espicially if I have some SJU and Maple Grove gear on :).

Quote from: GoldandBlueBU on March 31, 2025, 02:47:22 PMI'm sure it'll be a wire-to-wire entertaining game.  Full of drama, and with an exciting, close finish.

I distinctly remember the last game; it was at Mac, and the starters were pulled very early.  I recall trying to hide on the sidelines so that Gary and Jerry couldn't take us out of the game.  :o

They had one excellent d-end...Porter?  Other than that, they were awful.

Last time the Johnnies and Scots met was my junior yet, and I just turned 44.  :o

Yes, Hazzben, I watched as much as I could.  I'm still in shock/mourning over Gable's loss, but McEnelly had an outstanding tournament and proved he's at that elite level!  Going in, I thought the Gophs had a shot at top 4, but they had some disappointing performances.  5th is very respectable, but Gable scored a lot of points for them.
Everyone knew PSU would run away with it.  I didn't think many were expecting Nebraska to place a strong 2nd, though.

Mike Heffernen stepped down as CSS's head coach to return to his alma mater.

It's an emotional sport, and there is a fine line between being pumped about a big win and excessive celebration--that one fully crossed it.  ;D

The vibe at the gathering I was at was, "Who the hell is Kendrick Lamar?"  ;D

Asked the kids on the way home, and they of course, are familiar with him and enjoyed the show.
