Sounds like another strong performance by the Thunder! Congrats on another great victory! Any news on Rocky and why he didn't play in the fourth?

I just got back from the Wheaton and Mount Union game. I must say that Wheaton had their chances and just blew them. The two red zone picks were killers, but the biggest killer of all was not being able to stop the run. The QB's didn't do much. They actually threw a couple of picks, but it didn't matter because MU's running back had 300+ yards rushing! Wheaton was in the ballgame in the first half, but crumbled in the second half. It didn't help that Wheatons starting corner (Pete Ittersagen) broke his ankle on the second play and then Wheaton's starting middle linebacker hurt his hand later in the game and had to come out. Add that with throwing 5 picks, not being able to stop the run and not being able to run and you can begin to see why Wheaton was blown out. They had their chances, but MU was just the better team. I must say that MU has some weaknesses and did have a lot of penalties. They aren't as crisp as I have seen them in the past, but they are a handful. By the way, Wheaton didn't actually try a fake field goal. It was actually a muffed snap/hold that went Wheatons way.
Congrats on a great season to the Wheaton Thunder!

It's a final now Wheaton edges out Gustavos 23-16 for their first W. It's always nice to get a win, but this was NOT PRETTY!!!!! What's the word with Wesleyan??? Anyone have any news? It looks like a good showing my Augie. Put up some good offense.

Wheaton down 13-6 at half. Chupp has thrown 3 int's. Absolutely no offense for Wheaton. The defense and great special teams are keeping them in the game.

Gotta love D3 Football!! I like the predictions so far. I was far off last year so let's see if I can do any better this year.
Wheaton 7-0
NCC 6-1
Carthage 4-3
IWU 4-3
Augie 4-3
Milliken 3-4
Elmhurst 1-5
North Park 1-5
My prayers go out to the Schmied's and the entire IWU football program. May God comfort and bring hope to you all. This definitely brings perspective doesn't it. Let's root for our teams this year and cherish the fact that we have the ability to do so.
