Could someone help me understand some of this?  I am not up on how this part of the system works.  If I am a school that gets a call from a school like EMU, why would I ever accept a game with them?  I am not at all trying to be flippant or funny.  Here is a school without much history of success that is now winning. Why would a regional team want to give them a game?  It seems like a strange system.  Any school in the region would have to know that there is a good chance EMU would have beaten them so they would be hesitant to schedule them.

Another question, again potentially dumb but I don't know the answer.  Would have EMU been better served by just not filling their schedule?  Just leaving dates open rather than playing people out of the region?  Would they have been better served not playing in their own Classic and the Bridgewater Classic?

I look forward to the experts on here helping me understand.

Sorry if I misconstrued the post earlier.  I was reading inconsistent refereeing and then linking it to the next sentence.  My bad.

really, are you indicating you think that the officials were told to make sure certain teams won so there would be the chance for more post-season action for the league?  That seems to be a huge deal.  What proof would you have of that?

Runnin Royals get first win at Bridgewater since 1990, 81-64. Orie Pancione scores career high 22 and breaks EMU record for FG% in a game, hitting 10-of-11 shots to go 90.9%.

EMU starts 2011 by giving Ferrum its first loss of the year.  http://www.emu.edu/athletics/news/?id=2774

EMU is so young, if they get used to the stress of ODAC play quickly, Coach Griffin might have a sleeper on his hands.

Don't know reasons for the two Royals mentioned leaving the program, but here is a release with the new ones coming in.  Could it be "reading the writing on the wall?"

To the earlier list of Royals recruits, I think Blair Robertson from Chesterfield is coming to EMU, at least according to the papers there.  The Dispatch says, "Blair Robertson lettered in cross country and basketball, where he was the starting guard. He has a 3.52 GPA, which is fourth in the class. A member of the National Honor Society, he will attend Eastern Mennonite."

Two notes, both bummers for me.  1.  Almost wish EMU was going to Albright, since it is about 30 miles from home!  2.  Wonder how it is going to work for students at EMU who want to stay for the games but are supposed to clear out of the dorms for Spring Break?

I recognize my bias as an EMU alum and former SID, but the idea that the two NCAA D3 losses EMU has as a reason to not rank them as high seems weird to me.  They are both on the road, both to teams that know them well.  The NAIA loss was avenged by a 89-68 win against the same team.  To me it seems like they are not getting props because they are not a tradition-rich team.  To go this far in the season and lose once by 6 on the road to your traditional cross county rival and then have one bad game on the road in a tough conference like ODAC, is something not too many teams at any level can say at this time of the year.

Here is a link to the H'burg TV report, they make it sound like Twine is done for the year.  http://www.whsv.com/video/?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=4546874&flvUri=&partnerclipid=

83-48 EMU beats W&L.  Not sure I ever saw a box score where a team scored 83 and only had two in double figures.  Hinson was on fire.  HINSON, D.J.     12-15     7-9     3-4     5     0     1     34
