ONU fans... A month or two ago I offended some of you by saying I thought it would be challenging to recruit city kids to ONU because of Ada being in the middle of BFE.  I made my first ever trip to Ada this past weekend...and while it is smack dab in the middle of BFE, I must admit the campus is very nice and the athletic facilities are arguably the best in the OAC.  I know it's a good school, but it takes a little more than that to persuade a lot of 18 yr old boys.  I see how the facilities can help the cause. I was very impressed.

I was one of those kids that wanted to get away from that urban setting I went to high school in.  And that was before Dial-Roberson was even in the works.  We used to be able to brag that ONU was the furthest college campus from a McDonald's in the country since you had to travel to Lima to find the nearest one.  (I have no idea if that's true by the way but it sounded legit).  I'm still mad they got rid of my Hardee's and their delicious spicy chicken sandwiches at about 2 am on Friday/Saturday nights.

Finally a topic in which I have some knowledge.  Around 2000 was the height of the $1 sandwiches at Hardee's and 99 cent chalupas.  I believe this is the sole reason I entered Ada at 230lb and left at 285lb. Maybe the Reagle Beagle helped as well.

http://www.cleveland.com/hssports/blog/index.ssf/2013/08/unveiling_top_10_players_in_pd.html#incart_river#incart_special-report

The Plain Dealer released the top 50 high school football players in the last 50 years in Northeast Ohio (PD coverage area), a few notables, the first being London Fletcher, of course.

Chuck Moore made honorable mention, I would have ranked him in the top 50.  I don't have the time to look up his stats in high school, but he was flat out dominant with Mogadore.

How is Charles Woodson not on this list?

Jason Trusnik got a lot of playing time today against the Dolphins on defense and special teams. He ended up with 3 tackles, 2 assists and a fumble recovery.

I always heard that ONU was the farthest college campus from a McDonald's in the United States.  I don't know what one would do to verify these facts but I can vouch for the fact that the nearest Mickey D's is about 20 miles away in Lima.  And Lima (the big city) is just an acronym for Lost In the Middle of America.

Sorry RC but the closest McDonald's is about 9 miles away in Bluffton.

I for one am tired of people crying about MUC being so good that they should move up. Its not going to happen and it shouldn't. Mount is on an excellent run the last 15 years and they have built their program so this will continue. If your tired of them winning do like the pros do and copy their formula. ONU and Hiedelberg have  ;D

I was just wondering how the MHB/UWW game came about.  Are there many games with two teams so far apart geographically? This late in the season? It just seemed suprising to me for two teams ranked as high as they are to play a game out of thier region in week 9.  Do the teams in smaller confrences have trouble scheduling games?

Are there any key injuries in the ONU/Mount game this weekend?

RC,

I think the sports bar you are thinking about is Shell Shuckers!!!

Mount should be #1 until someone beats them.  As of right now and until they play again.  They are the best team in the best conference.

RC,
How can you say that?   Do you see who they have returning?
I'd like to know your thoughts.   Who do you see as being better?

I think the face at the end insinuates sarcasm.

Does anyone have any info about D3 players for the '07 draft?
