I'm predicting a Monkey Stomp tomorrow. Maybe even a Monkey Stompout.

Just perused the Forester's stats for a bit.  They're going to be a tough team. It should be a fun game!

Interesting tidbit--they averaged 622 fans per home game.  :o

HA! I guess we know why our offers of hospitality aren't going anywhere. Should be plenty of room for the traveling Foresters on the east side bleachers.
I don't see how SJU scores less than 40. LF will score no more than 14. Bet the farm on it.

Since when have you had a farm?

I won it Saturday. Took Bethel +2

To add to what Duffman said, we extend an invitation to all Forester fans to come and enjoy food and libations at the Johnnie tailgate before the game. Long range weather forecast looks favorable for mid-November. But dress like you'll be outside for 6-8 hours.

We're celebrating my Mom's 70th this Saturday, so I will have to settle for radio and/or Twitter updates.

Will save the magic rocket kool-aid juice for another time, then.
Watch for @johnniefootball tweets.
Happy birthday Mrs. B!

MSHSL just voted to move volleyball and football to March-May but allowing soccer to be played in fall.
Football in northern Minnesota in March on grass fields? NOPE 👎!
I might need to join a fall golf league or learn to hunt. I last shot a gun when I was about 12...I'm 51 now. Anybody want to teach me? 🦌, 🦆, 🐻

I would be happy to teach you as I am a Certified Firearms Safety Instructor. For last 20 years or so, I've been helping with the Rockville Area Sportsmen's Club. Our typical September class is generally 70-100 eager (mostly young) students. This year, DNR is limiting us to 25 students and 2 instructors. You should look on the website for a class near you, much of which can be done online. After all of that gun stuff, you can begin the life-long process of learning to hunt.

I've been ordered to WFH as much as possible.  As a scientist, there is a lot of work that can't be done at home, so we're working on a plan to minimize our interactions.  We have a small group, and as my boss said today, if one if us gets infected, we're all quarantined for two weeks.  My wife has always WFH.  It's been an interesting few days with all 4 of us home-- trying to do work + maintain some semblance of learning for the kids.
I honestly will be surprised if MN schools resume this spring, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.  I'm imagining that my wife, myself, or both of us will end up needing to take leaves of absence at some point--we'll see how our employers deal with it.
I see the MSP archdiocese finally suspended masses for at least 2 weeks.  ::)

Attorneys expect to see a steep drop in the DUI business due to drinkers drinking from home ("DFH"). The divorce business should take a tremendous spike up in the coming months as we will see that too much togetherness is not always a good thing.

No MLB games really sucks, no Masters sucks, but I did discover last night that Amazon Prime has the entire Andy Griffith Show available for binging. :D

Does anybody have a hot take on the just approved D3 regional realignment plan? Football going to 6 regions?

Your dad doesn't practice "poke and release" spearing?  ;D
I've done a bit of that...not intentionally. Sometimes they find a way to wiggle themsleves off.

Ice fishing is a great way to enjoy winter. I tell people, it's just like being a kid again...only we have nicer forts. And don't have to sneak the beer.

#2 took a Minnesota rite of passage yesterday.

Very nice, Oz. Love to see the youngsters getting exposed to spearing. I do a lot of hunting and fishing, and spearing is, by far, my favorite.

Is that a 7 tine Vernig she's using?

Women's soccer is at least a sport that is played in Minnesota high schools.  Rowing is the obvious Title IX addition.  They have to recruit by walking around campus looking for reasonably athletic girls with free time.  The other big equalizer that schools use is creating giant women's track and cross country teams.  There are many running events that don't limit the number of athletes you can have compete.

Curiously, SCSU adding men's soccer is interesting because they are the only D1 or D2 men's soccer in the upper midwest other than Upper Iowa.  They didn't add a sport just to increase travel costs substantially.

Presumably, SCSU will play nonscholarship men's soccer against MIAC opponents-- maybe replacing UST?-- and just serve as a D2 independent.

With SCSU, there will be a grand total of 5 D2 mens soccer programs in the 5 state area, 1 from each state.  Currently, all 4 of those other teams compete in different conferences, none of which are a logical fit for SCSU.
Welcome back. Long time no hear from.........
He's been pretty busy lately, cleaning out the Eagle's gambling account.

Reporter Tom Elliott leaving SC Times to go to West Central Tribune in Willmar. Wonder who they'll put on the SJU football beat?

Maybe they'll just live-stream my tweets ::) as much as they seem to care about good local journalism anymore...

3.) Kicking game. 190 guys, you'd think one could be perfect in FGs under 35 yards and PATs.
On 3, like whenever has that been true for us?  We got spoiled by Barwick go gave us a reliable boot for the first time ever.  He was an anomaly and we now return to the normal.  I have low expectations here.

Oz, your memory is shorter than your...well, it's short.

Don't forget about Russel Gliadon whose foot won some games.
Here's a link to one memorable game, youtube video is appropriately called, "The Kick".

There are some rumors that weather may impact game start times on Saturday...any backyard meteorologists out there have an opinion?
Forecasts I've seen for Collegeville are for morning and afternoon thunderstorms w/ 30 mph wind gusts. Tailgating will be a bitch! Lightening will put everything on hold.

The sun always shines on Johnnie football.

Stop by #17 for a cold, refreshing Hamms.
