I'm not sure what year it was, but HSU was in Belton (maybe 05 or 06) and every single time that either QB went under center the crowd noise was so loud I could not hear my radio that was plugged into one ear. I mean it was the loudest game I have ever been to. I will not be at the game this weekend (I wish I were) but I hope it is that same atmosphere. Now that is college football.

Don't think the Choctaws have a chance in this one! It'll be the just like every other week. My guess is 58-17.

I think your right, but will hope for a MC win and the luck with a coin toss (if HSU can win out).

I will sure jump on the UMHB bandwagon should MC lose and support the ASC.

The HSU game notes call for a MC win over UMHB to keep the Cowboys playoff hopes alive.  Just curious how this may playout if this major (huge) upset were to happen?

As Bill Parcels said, we may see some churning of the roster – particularly on the defensive side.

I'm pretty sure I heard Z Motion Jr. playing some solid DB on the radio!  ;)

I hope he can continue that!  Thanks for the mention~

+1 -- I agree...good post.

HSU has to get the defense corrected.  They have played two very good teams.  But they have got to get on this defense and get it fixed immediately.

MHB has put some impressive teams together.  That seems to be the case again this year as they brought back a ton from last year's team that was simply awesome.   MHB is the cream of the crop in the ASC.  As bad I hate to admit that being a Cowboy fan.  The good news for HSU is they have a lot of room for improvement and the coaching staff will get those things fixed.  As Bill Parcels said, we may see some churning of the roster – particularly on the defensive side.

One more note -- last year at the 1st meeting between HSU and the Cru -- Between plays just prior to the snaps, I could not even hear my radio with ear buds in because it was so loud.  Am I the only one that noticed this?  I'm curious how loud it was on the field.  I can not imagine calling plays and not be able to hear anything.

Speaks volumes (haha) for both sets of fans at that game.

I have watched a lot of college football teams in person over the past 4 years.  That includes teams from DI (North Texas v. OU most recently), DIAA Sam Houston to name one that I will watch again in three weeks at OSU, tons of DII like Midwestern State, Tarleton, Texas A&M Kingsville, Southeastern Oklahoma, ACU -- really the entire Lone Star Conference and then I have watched every team from the ASC.

It would be my opinion that Mary Hardin Baylor could give every single team I have watched a heck of a game (maybe with the exception of OU).  UMHB would beat most of those teams.  I think the same can be said of HSU.  There are some quality athletes and quality coaches at the D3 level in this part of the country to take from Josh.

I'm also of the opinion that UMHB's old #5 was a hell of a player and as a HSU fan I'm glad to see that he graduated because he should be under arrest for stealing the 1st game between the two last year.  I say that jokingly because I know that it was a total team effort but he made a huge impact on that particular game.

Great atheltes live in D3 no doubt!

Now go Cowboys and get yourself together!

Minni:

I will not make many games this year (if any) but I will keep up with the Cowboys on the web.  I know that I will miss the action and atmosphere as well .... so Go Cowboys!

Minni glad to see you built up some Karma for times like this!  Last year I recall it was running low... :)

FYI:

Former HSU receiver Jared May was way under 6 and is one of the all time leaders.

Too few people actually do "the right thing" now a days.

I saw Kubiak play twice and he is a real difference maker.  What a great college career he had.
