I agree. Most people might think that D1 is the obvious choice, but some people just don't want that. I could have gone D1 myself but chose D3 because it is less of a job and I could be a two sport athlete.

Reeno10 - There is a lot of football talent in D3 football. I myself played with three D1 caliber players. One played at Purdue and didn't like it. Another started at Indiana and tore his ACL. The third was getting looked at by Penn State but was not offered a scholarship because he was two inches too short. Other players, myself included, were never looked at by big programs because we are from very small communities. There are a lot of reasons why a player may not be in D1, but don't downplay Langstons ability just because he is a D3 player. Langston is a very good athelete and he controls the line of scrimmage. He is a D-lineman, he isn't supposed to make 100 tackles in a year. It's not his job.

North Central did look a little flat for their first game. However, you need to give credit where it's due. CUW is a very good team. They have a very large offensive line who, for the most part, controled the line of scrimmage against a good NCC defensive line. They also seemed to control the line of scrimmage on the deffensive side of the ball. I had expected NCC to be able to run the ball a little better than they did but at the same time there was just no push from the O-Line. Kniss played well and he should have a good season, but he needs some help. CUW's secondary is so-so and the wide recievers need to get open. They got better in the second half and engineered a very exciting come back. The short passing game was unstoppable for NCC so I was glad to see it play out the way it did. I would have liked to see both teams simply stick to what they are good at and we could have seen where they really stood. It was a great game to watch between two very good teams, and even though I was happy to see CUW pull out the victory I look forward to seeing how the Cards perform the rest of the year. I would expect both teams to have a good year.
