Holy balls!  I was browsing the SJU roster and there is a freshman O-lineman that is 6'9" 270.   That's some incredible size.  Drew Percival from Blake.  Anyone heard of him?

6'9 he's almost big enough to play little league for that Saudia Arabian team! ;D

This dude could actually make Pantzke and Engwall look small!

6'9 270 would put him at a BMI just a shade above mine and I would imagine there might be some muscle on him.

Size 18? Kicks the crap out of my size 13's!

Duffman and KR,

My son told me about this Drew guy. He told me he is a giant, built alot like Tom Engwall, he set the SJU record for shoe size, and he is a great and humble kid.

Belated Happy BD JR. I went golfing this morning with one of my kids. Play was slow so I invited the two-some behind us to join us. It turns out one of the guys was on the Central College golf team. He had a "Dutch" golf bag. Really a nice guy and excellent golfer. I quickly turned the discussion to "Dutch Letters" which he was very familiar with. He was very complimentary of SJU football and golf. He was shocked when I told him my kids, so far, have all been going to SJU/CSB when my wife and I were both Tommies. His playing partner was a Tommie who also was surprised I would let my kids go there.

He told me to watch out for a guy named Max who promises golf outings, but doesn't deliver ;D

Dropped my son off at SJU yesterday for football. Can't wait for the season to start.

Take care all!

All this golf talk makes me wonder: Wasn't there going to be a PP golf outing?

I was going to play golf this afternoon, but found out two of my kids have their inter-squad high school football scrimmage today. I have a wide receiver and, believe it or not Duffman, a defensive tackle. It won't be near the caliber of the All-Star Game in St. Cloud this weekend, but I still can't wait to watch.

The defensive tackle was a pretty good soccer player in grade school. Should I encourage him to be a kicker too? What do you guys think?

Given two "equal" teams, better coaching will definitely give one a better chance of winning. These are not equal teams. IMHO WW is much better. Don't take my word for it, we will see Saturday, when the players show us what they got. Face it Mount, WW is not afraid of you. They were not intimidated by the top notch teams they have played thus far, they are not going to start now.

Again, safe travels to all.

My Yak,

No, not for a while. The trip a few months ago was great, but I don't think I could handle your winter weather.

We'll be going to Hawaii in a couple months, though. I need to get my tan back.

I think you meant to say "I need to get MyTan back"

Just kidding, cawcdad. Tuxguy's son is a heck of a soccer player at Linfield, too.

JR, if you've been going to Johnnie football games every Saturday since you were a student there back in the seventies, how many do you suppose you've attended by now?

Jr, if I may answer on your behalf.  Not near enough. ;D

IMHO WW should handily win this Saturday. They are obviously the top ranked team. They played significantly better competition in the playoffs, based on ranking. They play in arguably one of the toughest conferences, top to bottom.

When I saw them play , they were the most impressive team I have seen this year, one of top D3 I have ever seen. (I only wish I could have seen them play Linfield). They are very well balanced and seem very hungry.

That said, they still have to play the game. In 2003, no one from the D3 staff picked SJU to beat the mighty MUC (with the exception of OAS), but they did and decisively at that.
It will be interesting to see MUC handle the underdog role.

MUC has a phenominal football program, but programs don't win the games, teams do. I have no doubt MUC has a very good team and it will be a great game, but I don't see MUC pulling the upset. IMO WW took down the toughest opponent last week  in Oregon and will win by 2tds or more in the Stagg.

Good luck to both teams. WW, just continue to do what you have been doing. And keep it in the West.

Safe travels to all.

Coco,

Any plans on traveling to the land of sky blue waters any time soon?

Congrats to WW on what sounds like more than an incredible game. I would have loved to see it, but was lucky enough to see you guys in action against SJU. Very impressive, but I think you topped it today. I suggest that if you win it all, you have your school make/sell a DVD of the Stagg Bowl and today's game. It will definitely be a top seller.

You beat a great team today, but have two more games till you can rest. Good luck the rest of the way.

Oh, and of course, bring it back to the West ;D

Congrats to Linfield and fans on a great season. I know you lose alot of players this year, but you have been winning a very long time and I don't expect it to end any time soon.

A special thanks to Coco, Wildcat 11, and Mrs. Coco for your updates and class.

The Cats will need to bring their "A" game next week. The Warhawks are an excellent team. They are very solid all the way around. Their air attack was much better than I expected. It sounds like the Cobbers gave you all you could handle. Congrats to the Cobbers for doing the MIAC proud.

I expect a great game next week. With the Johnnies losing today, you have my full support(for what that is worth :-\). When my son played against you guys in 2002 and 2003, he mentioned how impressed he was with the class of your players. I have been impressed with the class Coco has shown to me as well. He also assures me that Gig and Wildcat 11, are really great guys.

Whitewater IMHO deserves their high ranking. Good luck!

What is the story about Garrett Wales?  Why isn't he doing any kicking?
Not on roster to do it.

11- Great analogy between spandex/Concordia.

I will go ahead and thank all of the Midwest posters who will come on here and tell us that Linfield "better play their 'A' game"" to beat ww. Really? I thought we could play our 'd-' game to beat the #2 team in the nation. I hope Locey reads these boards.

86,

Thanks for bringing me back to reality. I guess Linfield does have some fans who are less than classy. Someone pays your team and fans a sincere compliment and mentions they are going to support your team and you come back with a smarta$$ reply. I tell my kids to "play hard" whenever they compete. That's obvious to them, without my saying it, but they have the intelligence to know I meant them well and the  respect to not say "da".

Way to represent your team.

Coco,

What's the scoop on this guy.

Congrats to the Cobbers for what I heard was a great game today. Great season!

Congrats also to the Johnnies, especially the seniors. I know it didn't end the way you wanted it to today, but 11-1 is an incredible year. Remember you leave with alot more than wins and losses.

email your phone number to criswyly@usa.net

Ah, tricky. Giving me a different Linfield athletic supporter's email address. One that just dinged my karma at that.

You'll have to get up pretty early on the Mongolian Steppes to pull one as simple as that over a Johnnie's eyes. You must be spending too much time talking with the Yak herd if that's the best Linfield has to offer. Assuming you spend your time talking to the Yaks and not ... :-*

Anyone genuinely interested in keeping me updated is thanked for their efforts.

Oz,

I resent the fact you call my family a herd. I have a large family but come on... ;D

ROR,

I too hope everyone is ok. My newest driver hit the garage door a couple of weeks ago :o. No damage to the Suburban, but the door is trashed >:(

Good luck to the MIAC and Linfield.
