I was at game saturday. After Horn caught touchdown, did he got back into the game? I don't remember seeing him. Anybody know what happened?

Does anybody close to the Bash football program have any more information on incoming RB?
Was back at Wabash for reunion this weekend and word is there is a freshman RB coming next year. That is 6' 1" weighing 205 and runs a 10.68 100 yd dash. State champion in 100yd and powerful runner. Had some low level div1 and div2 scholarship offers but wants to play football and run track which is one of reasons he decided to go to Wabash because he didn't think he could do both on a higher level.
Will say that got this information from reliable source but wanted to know if anybody else knew anything. Unfortunately didn't get the kids name.

WABASH WINS! WABASH WINS! WABASH WINS!
Now we have to just sit and wait for the playoff pairings and hope we don't get jobbed again and left out. I see no way we don't make the playoffs and who knows, maybe we get to host a game.
Looks like that Time of Possession stat turned out to be meaningless. Depauw dominates first half and only leaves up 1 point then Wabash dominates second half to take one game lead in in Monon Bell battle.
For those that didn't watch. Wabash was up 12 points in the 4th quarter with about 9 minutes left. Had 4th down and 1/2 yard on their own 20 yard line. Bash tried to draw offsides and didn't, called time out. QB on the sideline talked Coach into calling QB sneak and going for it. They had not run a single QB sneak in two years since Raeburn took over as coach. Decided to go for it and got first down. Went down filed to score another TD putting Wabash up 19 and sealing victory.

Going back to the TOP argument? The Colts are almost always at the bottom for time of possession and that doesn't really seem to affect them. Coach Dungy always said that was the most misleading stat there was and he never looked at it. Hell the Colts had the ball for less than one quarter vs the dolphins this year and still won.
Yes TOP is good in that it keeps the other teams offense off the field but it doesn't do a damn thing if you don't score points at the end and it better be touchdowns. If you are driving 60 yards everytime and keeping the ball but only putting up 3 points, it will come back to bite you in the end.

Miracle did well with what he was asked to do: manage the game and don't lose it.
The play calling without Hudson though was not the same. The coaches also coached the game to not let Miracle lose and put him in a position he can't handle. They had to do this because of his limitations with the offense
Miracle's arm strength is so much worse than Hudson that we couldn't call the game we would have called with Hudson in the game. He can't put the ball into the tight spots that Hudson can and there was no real threat down the field and especially down the middle of the field because the coaches knew Miracle couldn't make those throws.
I'm not saying we would have won with Hudson in because I think the whole game would change. If Wabash with Hudson had put more points up, in all likelihood Witt would have put more points up as well. With Hudson I would have expected some let down on the defense. More points probably would have been scored by both sides. Our defense played above their head out of necessity. They pulled together as a team and did the best they could.
I do think we win with Hudson because we would have been able to play all out on offense which we couldn't with Miracle but I also think Witt responds to the challenge as well and probably puts up more points as well.

not trying to upset any depauw supporters by putting the Bell game in the win column. Also not trying to justify loss by assuming we will beat Depauw now because of that loss. We just know that is only way to get into playoffs which has not been true in the past.
There is a huge difference now though compared to years past. We don't have the luxury now of an automatic bid into the playoffs. The absolute only way we can get in is to win out and that means two tough teams Wooster and Depauw to go. The last few years we had won the conference and knew we were in the playoffs and unfortunately I think that has hurt us in the Bell game. So much is put into winning the conference that it is a let down time before the playoffs. Now I am not saying that is why we lost those games. We lost those games because Depauw flat out beat our ass and had the better team on the field that day.
I hope not haveing the automatic bid will now give us even more to play for in the Bell game than usual. Before Creighton came to town the Bell game was the be all end all, heck that is what cost Carlson his job, the inability to win that game. But once we started going to the playoffs our expectations became higher and I think that cost us some in the Bell game. For Depauw it was their playoffs and for us it was the Bell game but we still had more to play for and we knew that. This year The Bell game could possibly be a playoff, win and you play on, lose and season is done. If that isn't motivation for this team then I don't know what is.

thanks for your comments Pat.
I will stop being mr. negative. Drink the cool aid. Believe we will finish 9-1 and get that at large bid.
This coming week will be just as tough. On the road at Wooster, without Hudson, Wooster believing that if they can win out they will get conference automatic bid so that will give them even more incentive(as if they needed it with Wabash coming to town).
Really need Depauw to win out going into the Bell game to help our victory over them look that much more impressive.
WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS!!!

4 interceptions tied a record with someone from the 70's that was an all-american they said on the TV broadcast.
Interesting thing was nobody has ever had 3 interceptions in a game. Tons have had 2 int's in game and now two with 4 int's in game but nobody every with 3 in a game. How wierd?

sad to say this but we need to cheer for Depauw to win every game up til the Bell of course. Same for Wooster, need to hope they win out(except against us). Then I see the argument where we could possibly get in as at large.
Man I don't know if I can cheer for Depauw to win.

Hey I hope I am wrong. We'll see what Pat Coleman says. But if you look at the criteria for at large bids our conference is too weak to get an at large bid. We would need a ton of help. Plus this isn't the NCAA basketball selection process, there are criteria to use such as strength of conference, schedule, and opponents wining percentage. Our schedule doesn't help us there. It doesn't mean we aren't one of top 32 teams but with the criteria they use for at large I don't see us getting in. I hope I am wrong. I would be very interested in seeing what Pat's thoughts are.

not to be mr. negative which I'm sure it sounds like I am. But a one loss Bash doesn't get into playoffs as at large bid. Only way is a 3 way tie for title if Wooster beats Witt and we beat Wooster.
Our conference is not strong enough and our out of conference schedule doesn't help us. I doubt committee cares too much that we didn't have our QB against Witt.

love the heart of the Little Giants today. They proved that Wabash Always Fights!
Unfortunately I was correct about not being able to win without Hudson. The deficiecy's I have seen in our backup QB's showed today against a top flight defense. Miracle did a great job of managing the game and almost pulled out a miracle but in the end a special teams mistake costs us the game.
With Hudson it's probably a different game and a different season.
At least now this should make the Bell Game mean a little more to this team because that now becomes our playoffs. Unfortunately with one loss in the conference that seals our chance for the playoffs. Conference in all is too weak to get two teams into the playoffs.
Even if Wooster would beat Wittenberg and we beat Wooster next week(which won't be easy by any means without Hudson). I don't see us getting automatic bid from conference.

30 yard field goal to win the game and probably go to playoffs.
