Of course there was the time we literally had a hot tub on the 3rd floor of The Res at the 'Burg.

I believe the e-mail from Res Life went something along the lines of..."While hot tubs may not specifically be banned in the student handbook, we hope you understand why we cannot allow them in dorm rooms..."

More media watch...in today's CR Gazette, there was an article about Cornell. It included a picture and note about the fact that Cornell will have a live ram as its mascot again. Apparently they just bought the ram in Wisconsin a week ago and it's the first time they've had the live mascot since 1999-2000.

Walston- Actually I didn't shoot that. I think JC probably did.

Also, neglected to mention it, but in the KWWL Wartburg story, it appeard that the Knights were wearing some new unis. Looked like they had some orange in the shoulder area. No pics to be found on the Wartburg website though.

Which brings up another issue, with the new PEC going up, this would seem like as good a time as any to actually have a logo, rather than just a "W." Maybe they'll actually get on that and having something cool.

I can't take credit for this, it was in Mike Hlas's column in the CR Gazette today. If you want to make the case that Wartburg or Coe are better than Iowa or Iowa State ;)

Wartburg beat Coe who beat Central (on down the line), Augustana (Ill), Catholic, La Salle, St. Francis (PA), Central Conn. St, Colgate, UMass, Rhode Island, William and Mary, New Hampshire, UC-Davis, Stanford, Navy, Air Force, SDSU, BYU, New Mexico, Missouri, ISU, Iowa.

(You could add Luther too)

With regards to the press box situations, Luther probably has the worst atmosphere (love hearing the clanging of plates and trays in the background of the broadcast), but it might not be the worst. Based on what I dealt with a couple of years ago anyway...at Dubuque visiting radio and visiting coaches are in the same space...BV visiting radio booth is about 5 feet wide...Cornell doesn't provide much room to look left or right, tough to see the nearside endzone corners...that's just a couple of them. Wartburg and Central have done it right.

I believe that Wartburg has beaten Luther 13 consecutive times. The last Luther win in the series was in 1991, 20-17.
