Another reminder that life is very, very fragile.  For those that were not able to play with/against or see Flip play, he was truly one of the great U running back's during a special time for the program.  As good a player as he was, he was an even better person and will be missed by all that knew him.

RIP - Alejandro Felipe

never used vista, but am very happy with xp

Thanks super57, bobby has xp at home and work is very comfortable with it.  Just didn't know if it was worth getting Vista on new computers.  One problem is that the 17" laptops only come with Vista.  Bobby wants the 17", but don't know if getting Vista shoved down bobbys throat is worth it

Bobby needs some help from the LLPP faithful.  Bobby has been given 2 jobs this x-mas

1 - buy wife a laptop
2 - buy wifes parents a laptop

Bobby is not a fan of Apple, so Bobby is probably getting Dell laptops.

Here is the question - XP or Vista

Bobby has read the Vista reviews and knows that there are some compatibility issues with older hardware, but does not know to what extent.  will a 4 year old hp scanner or hp printer work with vista?  Can computer illiterate in-laws make the switch from windows 2000 to vista?

any help is appreciated

The one thing that Reg finds so disappionting about his current camera is how long it takes to actually take a picture once he presses the button.

If I hit the button, it should be taking the picture within .02 seconds.

The camera is an older Kodak easyShare.  Needless to say a new camera is due.

You may be able to improve the camera write speed, depending on the write speed of your current memory card.  If you have a cheaper memory card, it probably has a slower write speed and you may be able to upgrade.  However, it may get to a point of diminishing returns depending on the write speed of you camera.  check the specs of your camera and memory card to make sure they match.

A little help here - What's a reasonably priced digital camera Tags can get for FMTags?

Also, what should I be looking for in one (don't know jack about them)

Bobby doesn't know about the sony's kodak's etc....  Bobby has had various Canon camera's and they have served bobby and Mrs B well over the years.

As RT indicated, picture quality, ease of use, transfer to computer and size are the most important items. Battery life and screen size are close to the top also.  Don't get caught up in all the extra features, you won't use them.

Bobby bought online at the following links and was able to save some coin.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

http://www.familyphotoandvideo.com/ (Bobby just tried the link and it was down, don't know if they are out of business)

Bobby's advise, shop at Best Buy/Circuit City, buy online.

I added a little more to my post about the intensity of union week. I think former players would agree.

agreed - Bobby played against RPI midseason and it doesn't matter

Rochester returns a punt to inside the Union 40 with +/- 25 seconds left.  Gets it down to ~ 25 yrd line, but Union holds them out of the endzone to win 13-7.  Union 1-0 in the LL!

Syracuse up 31-14?

First of all I am happy tobe watching, but theses guys better get some things straight.  When did U become the FIGHTING Dutchmen?  I was the PA announcer for four years for hoops at U (90-94) and we were NOT the FIghting Dutchmen!

Second, in the first quarter, the PxP guy could not get the yardage correct.  Said Union had first down at the 2 when it was at the 7.

Finally, he did not know the ref's signals...saying U was being called for a Delay of Game after a time out when it was a false start.
I mean these are simple thngs..CMON!!
