WJaddict,

Welcome to the board and what a good first post!

Ferra,

I was impressed with Ferra when I saw him live. The secondary seemed to be primarily a group of seniors who I didn't see get beat very often or out of position. Ferra I felt was just as strong, quick, and made quick reads on the QB. As for only being a Sophmore today the sky is the limit and he should be a leader in the secondary in 2010.

Great game that we all watched live on TV yesterday and it was a bit of a downer to not have the game on HD. Great display of talent for Div III to the rest of the football Nation.  It seems like a MUC II dynasty is trying to be built in Whitewater, WI. All the players in their TV interviews that were shown on ESPN discussed building a dynasty and being the next MUC. The Warhawks outplayed MUC. When I think about the game and review the stats a few glaring points can be made.

1. I said this weeks ago and it was apperant all sesaon with MUC. THe lack of a Running game. MUC had a net 88 yards rushing and it was a glaring weakness that the Warhawks defense was able to focus on trying to stop Rocco and the passing game. Warhawks had 144 yards running and were able to run for most of the day and break the big runs when needed. Coppage what a stud this kid is going to be, 22 rushes 119 yards and 3 TD's. Overal 5.0 yards per rush for UWW vs MUC's 2.9. Our coach used to always say 4 yards on first down keeps the defense off balance.
2. 5 sacks of Rocco vs none on Donovan.
3. 5 fumbles by MUC and 3 lost. 1 interception of Rocco/2 fumbles by UWW none lost however. and No interceptions thrown by Donovan. In the game against Albright when MUC had 3 turnovers in the first quarter, it might have been 4. I stated weeks ago they cant play like that against the best teams in the country and get away with it.

Overall, UWW took care of the football, protected their QB, Ran when they needed to, and a hot first quarter start was the key difference in the final score. For those of you who were commenting on the field goal attempt late in the game to seal the victory for UWW. I loved the confidence Leipold had in his senior kicker and all time leading Div 3 NCAA scorer for a kicker. After missing the first field goal attempt just wide right, and having him come in to end his career on a high point. The field goal was a chip shot.  Even with a cross wind a Senior needs to consider the adjustment in his kick and make it.

How does Shorts and this other MUC player have an extra year of eligibility? If Shorts is a sure draft pick he won't risk injury in 2010 to come back and try to get another national championship. Shorts showed scouts on Saturday that he is a big threat. 10 receptions 185 yards and 2 TD's. He could not be stopped and I believe he caught every pass attempt that came his way. Scouts had to love his speed, agility, hands, concentration, and football intelligence. Money is a powerful tool and if he has gurantees waiting for him even if he is a late 4,5,6 round draft pick, it will be very hard for him to pass up.

RC,

Not that great of a day for D III. Stuedabaker also couldnt behave himself and cost him team an extra 15 yard personal foul penalty. Extra curricular activity after the whistle was blown.

The difference is the Oline...UWW can pass or run all day on MUC. THis will be a tough game for MUC to win. Coppage is the real deal.
#6
Rocco is throwin the pearl around this drive. Looks much better!
#7
UWW Impressive they have the athletes adn their Oline opens up holes for the RB's to run through. I picked UWW to win this game and I know its early. Larry has his work cut out for him.

PS Rocco looks sluggish.
#8
Terrible Call that ball was uncactchable. MUC will take it as it was 4th down! THis should help or aid a score on this drive!
#9
UWW looks fresh and ready to play. Stopping MUC on their first drive and not having much going on offensively. UWW comes dowsn and its not easy but puts 7 on the board. THis is goign to be a good game.

Rocco I think is rusty and Larry Kehres will go into the wildcat in teh second half if Rocco's rustiness doesnt wear off.

Nothingbutraider,

Last week's game was competitive and great to watch. I enjoyed myself and appreciate your concern on where I was. You went deep into the Alliance vernacular for snivelers. From where I sat (right next to section 13) the view was great. It was actually colder the week before I thought. With the sun shining down all afternoon it was a great afternoon for Ohio Football.

First post on the board, I must have rattled you with my posts a few weeks ago? Funny post and I enjoy your passion along with the rest of section 13. You should know I am rooting for MUC not against you, section 13, or the team.

Can we stop the sniveling? Or just refrain from that word altogether?

MUC vs Wesley,

I invoked the 48 hour rule before I would post on here my thoughts from the game. I can say Wesley traveled much better than Albright the stands were just about packed on the visitors side with MUC and Wesley fans.

Wesley,
They had the size and speed I to match up with Mount Union. Their entire offensive line was over 6 ft tall and averages 279 lbs according to Wesley's roster sheet. Their corners were 5-8 and 6-2 and were quick and when the QB thought there was an open receiver he was quickly covered.  The QB for Wesley can sling it around and made some plays on his feet. However, the run game was non existent and Mount had pressure all game on the QB.

MUC,
Size was similar but Mount had the more talented, athletic, prepared, and better coached players. Mount did not turn the ball over as much as they did with Albright. They limited mistakes and continued to force turnovers and capitalize on them. Unfortenate the QB was hurt in the fashion he was. I agree it was a late hit.

Give wesley credit for coming in fighting and being well traveled with their fans. Great team that shoudl be good in years to come with the amount of JR's coming back next year.

I dont think MUC will win by 17 but I'll say MUC beats UWW by 10.
Final prediction to come later this week!

Cant wait for this game I believe tommorrow's game will be the first true test of MUC's playoff run. Maybe a close game will be a good thing for MUC and have them better prepared for any adversity in the National Championship game. It sounded like they won and fough through adversity with Capital in the regular season. There is a big difference between reg. season and playoffs. Good Luck to both teams, no injuries, clean game, and let the best team win!!!

GO BROWNIES!!!! 5 years in the making!!!! ITS good to be alive!!! for those of you who follow WKNR you know what I am talking about!!
