Game story and recap up at www.JohnnieFootball.com

Great article! It would be awesome if Central alumni could get a page up like that!

One question for the Johnnie fans...Why were your starters in at the end of the game? I realize some are seniors and so forth but one of Gagliardis principles is that everyone plays in a blowout right? We had called off the dogs, even though I know DeWaard would have wanted a shut out worse than anything, but we have the utmost respect for the SJU program as Im sure you guys have for us. I thought that it would have been a good time to get some younger Johnnies, next years team, some playing time in a playoff atomsphere. Either way Ill take the de-facto shut out in my mind. Good luck in the off season and next year!

Typically, I'd say yes getting younger players in is what happens.  However, having watching/listening to SJU football for the better part of 15 years, when the final game of the year ends this way (read: no hope for a future game) John will put his seniors into the game.  Radio broadcast said seniors Solt and Walsh were in at WR, along with senior Weber (TD reception) and senior backup OL Schleper was in, as were Senior QB Kofed, senior backup RB Blackmore.  Although not exactly a 2nd team, I'd be surprised if there were anyone but seniors ont he field for that last drive.  That's John showing respect, admiration and gratitude for those guys who are finishing four years of dedication to Johnnie football.

Great showing by the Dutch, most certainly deserved the W on Sat!  Congrats and good luck moving forward!

If you pull up the internet radio feed and pause it for about 25 seconds it will be in sync with the video feed!! 8)

TD GEARMAN!!!

ANOTHER Johnnie fumble...I believe that's 7 and 8 turnovers overall.  Yes, tip of the hat to WW.

Nice game WW!  Your defense showed the speed to succeed!  Capitalized on the Johnnies misques.  You deserved to win today - good luck next week, hopefully against COBBERS!

Yep, 34-7 6+ min. to go

Steffensmeier intercepts WW, first playt from scrimage, Kofed funbles on a scramble.  Sounds like Alex has been flustered today.  SJU with 5 fumbles on the day.  WW is the real deal.

CC holding their own - go cobbs!

Good News from the hospital (Literally)  Good's wrist is not broken, just a sprain, he'll be a go for next week.  Sounds like the Monmoth kid is not in real good shape - keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Just got home.  Mathiasen (my lit'l bro) broke his fiblua, he's having surgery tonight to put a plate in his leg and a screw in the ankle.  Obviously he's done  :-[ Talked to Good's dad, they are heading to the ER to have it looked at.  His wrist is broken, depending on the location of the break, he could play with a "club" wrapped, not sure on that, however.  Zahar has a hip injury and was in plenty of pain at half - don't know the extent of that injury.

Bad breaks for the J's.  Jamie Stefinsmeier was around the locker room talking to Brian and the other guys, you could see the empathy in his face for these guys.  Adversity brings opportunity, I know guys will step up with their shot.  Tough to see though.  Hard to watch your little bro as he realizes his career is over, just as the team is hitting stride.

Nice win boys, keep the train rollin next week!

The special on Gagliardi was an original done by Fox North.  Sunday was the first airing.  Apparently they will run it periodically over the next few weeks as filler etc.  It was a terrific piece - very well done.  A nice historical perspective and give some insight as to how John has evolved his teams over the decades, some nice family insight as well.  Better than the recent National coverage that just focused on how John does things today.  Thumbs up FSN!
