I played baritone, close enough? I did play a valved trombone for marching band one summer.

Which has more prestige:
Corvettes or Time of Possession?
Discuss.
Roush > Corvette.
Me too.

Women's soccer is at least a sport that is played in Minnesota high schools. Rowing is the obvious Title IX addition. They have to recruit by walking around campus looking for reasonably athletic girls with free time. The other big equalizer that schools use is creating giant women's track and cross country teams. There are many running events that don't limit the number of athletes you can have compete.
Curiously, SCSU adding men's soccer is interesting because they are the only D1 or D2 men's soccer in the upper midwest other than Upper Iowa. They didn't add a sport just to increase travel costs substantially.
Presumably, SCSU will play nonscholarship men's soccer against MIAC opponents-- maybe replacing UST?-- and just serve as a D2 independent.
With SCSU, there will be a grand total of 5 D2 mens soccer programs in the 5 state area, 1 from each state. Currently, all 4 of those other teams compete in different conferences, none of which are a logical fit for SCSU.

Anyone know what is going on with the GAC/SJU webcast this weekend? The GAC site says that it is being produced by SJU, but the link on the SJU site takes me right back to the GAC site.
It looks like that is an audio only link to the SJU radio broadcast, thus the 11:00 start time. Below that they list a 12:50 start for the GAC video and audio links. Hope that helps.

OK, here's one for you guys...3 Tommie girls walked out of a bar...
No wait. Nevermind. No one will ever believe this one.
This made me think of this one...
Two Tommie girls walked into a bar. Their Bennie friend ducked.

Bohl is 55 and is in his prime earning years. He is taking the money because one never knows when an opportunity (big payday) may come around again. NDSU didn't even try to make a counter offer because they know Wyoming is throwing around crazy cash.
In rough numbers, hes going from $200K base/$350K with incentives to $750K base/$1.2M with incentives. Its sounding like the entire staff will continue until the playoffs are over, and then Bohl (obviously) and 5 of the assistants will all probably be gone. Not sure what to think of the Caruso speculation. Never really cared for him as an SJU fan, but thats probably more due to the success he's had moreso than his coaching abilities. He does have NDSU ties and was pretty successful as a recruiter, from what I've read, while he was there.

That's what made NDSU football games fun when I was in F-M, back when they were winning D-II titles: southern teams coming in to play at Dakotah Field in Nov/Dec. Not sure what they were thinking as they deplaned and saw the temperature.
Augustana's not exactly a southern team, but still a great video..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOXkT107x2E

Looks very similar to the hit put on Voshell that didn't even draw a penalty.
And out of nowhere*...IT"S BUCKMAN !!! With a spot-on post, no less. I was shocked at the no-call on that hit, too. Voshell's head almost flew off.

Yeah, the ejection seems a bit extreme.

Just read about a high school football team that scored 29 points before the opponent ever ran a single offensive play. They received to start the game, scored a TD and then proceeded to kick 4 consecutive onside kicks, recovering the first 3 and scoring each time!
Watch the video in the article to see some of the most creative onside kick formations I've ever seen.
My favorite part of the article was after the team went up 29-0 and the other team finally got the ball, their defense consisted of rushing all 11 guys.

Thanks to the Johnnies for a very good season that ended too soon.
I am hoping someone a more familiar with the rules can answer a question for me. On one Johnnie punt both Coe returners were in position to field the punt. One signaled for a fair catch, but the other player fielded the punt and attempted to advance. I thought there should have been a flag. Was I right?
I saw that too and several people around me thought the same thing. Honestly, I thought he was just shielding the sun, trying to see the ball. I don't believe he ever waved in an attempt to signal for a fair catch.

Well, this should help with the atmosphere on Saturday. Hopefully they take advantage of it.
