I saw the video, while Freeman's certainly great, I hate to see him going down the "me,me,me" road. There is usually always  pretty solid play by the other ten, allowing play like his.
He should come on out to Alpine, we shoot real movies out here.

With UMHB numbers, location, and money, that should be possible.  However, I was penalized in high school with that philosophy. I could kick the older center's _ss, but I was a freshman. Very , very good players will want to play right away in Div III, that is still one of the draws.
Where the h_ck is the spellcheck on this thing?

WOW, Soldier, take it easy on the guy. He's obviously trying to do his homework. I didn't know it was a top secret football program. As in Div' II , and I, I'm sure many players see the writing on the wall, and move on to somewhere were playing, not winning, is more important personally. I know it was for my son, now he's getting alot of play, and some winning too!
Congrats to UMHB on a great run! I suspect it gets tough to play schools from other states that don't have a big Div. II showing, and kids just go to III.
Does anybody have any input on that?

Congrats to UMHB, I'll have to rib my sister-in-law, she's in the Hall of Fame at Trinity! Where to next for the Cru?

After scratching my head and asking the forum here why the ASC Standings are listed in the order they are on the D3 board, I've come to the conclusion that , unlike all the other conferences, our ASC is listed by the Massey Ratings system of strength of schedule. What a unique idea! I wonder why the other conferences haven't caught on?

This Saturday is a big one! Wish I could go to Hsu for the game. Hsu better score 55-60, from what I've seen of the Cru.

Could somebody explain the ASC Standing lineup for me. It doesn't seem to be in order, like the other conferences. Is Fox News incharge of the lineup?

used2b, you bring up a good point about the better teams being older. Coach Wright has done a good job recruiting, and it will only get better at SRSU, but ALOT of freshman and soph. start right away.
Kinda like playing up in baseball, it's a good way to learn quick, just not always on the winning side..

48-6?? Did our offense bus break down in Brady?

I was "smitten" by my high school english teacher, does that count?
I don't know how much Flynt will play , but i don't think he expects anybody to take it easy, the haven't in practice. Big Gideon is back, which will help too.
We are not as deep, but hopefully we can hang on:)

Yessir, i agree 100 percent with what you said. Div I almost always goes by the numbers, size and speed, with weight being something they can add or subtract. The percentages pay off for them most of the time, however, it can backfire on the recruiter. A good friend of mine was at BYU (now at Colorado as ast. coach) recruited 3 fellows from Dallas, based wholly on their numbers, as was surprised when their character did not fit in at BYU! So, there are many, many quality boys who are overlooked because of height.
Another thing is their highschool coach. My son's coach had a Div. I mentality, and really didn't spend much time an any calls from Div. II or III, or NAIA.
So, that being said, the talent is there in Div III, even if the height isn't.
See Yall in Belton!

Well, I hope Sully doesn't "fall apart at the seams", but the odds , of course, are not in their favor.  One of the things my son liked about SR was that he would play, and play in one of the best conferences in DIII.
As for myself, I always liked playing a confident team. And, if the Sully Boys thing they are not respected, that might get em going , too.
  Whata ya think, SR97?
