Dansand, Not sure Guzamn will be going to CC. I am not saying he won't end up there but it is not a done deal either. He played with Moraine Valley in a summer league this past Sunday, Danville won't release him from his letter of intent so he can't go to Moraine, and I heard from a very relieble source that he is looking at Chicago State. He has changed his mind many times and has some issues at home to deal with so I am not sure he definitely will be at Carthage although he could be..

Just a little added info on the Hitchcock resignation. It sounds like he may have had the same problem he had at Benedictine(this is just speculation). My sources say that if Hendrix did it's due dilignece he never would have been hired there. They need to do a better job on the background check..

Well I am not in the know either on this but I do have some info. I know he was asked to leave at his prior coahing gig to Hendrix. So you can speculate on the reason's at both schools..

Hey does anyone know why Chris Hitchcock left Hendrix? did he resign or was he fired? Just curious...??????

If he is at Joliet Junior College he is not getting scholarship moeny. Joliet is a NJCAA DIII and therefore not allowed to give money for athletics but here are ways around it. He may have gotten scholarship money for academics, special programs etc. ANd of course financial aid but money for purely athletics is not part of the NJCAA DIII by laws.

very true..They go both directions....The candidtate needs to go beyond the people interviweing them and find out the real story(research) and the people in athletic administration need to do the same...The bottom line is this hurt the program and univeristy and is a setback...And to clarify my point I was not assuming it was the coach..I think my first post hints at just the opposite

Region 8 women's basketball / Openings.

Well first of all CLarke isn't in the NAC.. They have gone NAIA or are going.  And you also forgot ALverno..SO there are 3 openings just not the one's you stated....It is too bad about April Arvan. Thoughts and prayers go to her...Class act...

I would like to clarify my earlier statement...All I am saying is that during the interview process for the Dominican coach last year , wouldn't you think it would be a good idea to find out the candidates long term committment to buidling a program. I think that that would be one of the most important questions you could ask...It seems to me if you are trying to build the program you would want a solid committment from the candidate(and yes I realize they can lie about that not that I am saying that is what she did). Not a one year and out deal...That only hurts the program worse...The former coach came from Virginia and may not have had any ties to the Midwest. It probalble made her job that much more difficult....I wish her well and hopefully it was a good decision for her and she has success in the future..I just think that due diligence may not have happpened in the last go round hiring a coach...No you have had had another year go by and you have the situation not improved at all...So that basically sets the program back two years because of recruiting, etc...

Well, after only staying one season, the Domincian coach resigned. That cannot be good for the program. It was a questionable hire at best. She had no Midwest roots and came all the way from Virginia. She never was a Head Coach on the college level. I am not questioning her qualifications but it seemed like a strange hire at the time. Now the program is starting from scratch again at a time when recruiting is in full swing.

I think something is going on there that is not apparent to outsiders. Two coaches in two years. That is not a good way to keep a program going. Plus look at what the women's sports have done there. Besides soccer, the women's sports have had a rough ride. And soccer is having a good ride because it has one super star(go Mayra)...So what is holding DU back. they are having more success on the men's side. Is it the culture? Just asking?

Hey what happened to the "shaq" of the NCAC womens basketball at DU, Christine Demogirgas...She didn't play agaisnt Alverno and isn't on the current roster...Anyone know anything?

Well I would prefer to say bad loss for DU...The girls at DU have more talent than thay are showing...Play some Defense ladies...You cannot give up the huge point totals you ahve ain a lot of games and expect to win

First of all, the rumours are true. These have been out there for the last couple years. They have some financial difficulty. If you have watched the situation closely you will see that many staff members have been leaving. Like rats off a sinking ship. As far as the new coach resigning, maybe he saw that writing on the wall...Strong programs start from the top, finances, etc. and maybe he didn't see the support you need. Finally, Amsberry firing his assistant is typical. The guy has a Napolean complex and that is his way of showing who is boss..

From what I know she is coming back..She will be a senior this year..And they have a bout 3 good post recruits from good programs in Illinois and one from Arizona I heard this summer..also a super quick pair of guards from that are small from Illinois(5'2")...I know the former coah there and he did a great job recruiting last year..too bad he ddin't get to see this team together. the new coach suhould consider herself lucky cuz most times when you start a new job the cupboard is kinda bare..

Well I expect that the Illinois schools from the NIIC will make things competitive...Concordia (WI), WLC should be tough from the old LMC...Concordia(Il), Aurora should do well...Watch out for Dominican because the old coach there had a strong recruiting class(at least I heard that he had 10 new players) so they could surprise as could Benedictine...

Just heard that Clarke and M.S.O.E have put in there applications...They were to be members originally but dropped top pursue the MWC which did not come to fruition for either..so they have to re-apply to the NAC

Some news for the NAC(or whatever the things is being called).....A little bird says that both M.S.O.E. and Clarke were not accepted into the MWC....so my guess is they will be trying to get in the NAC again....Anybody hear different...
