Right in the middle of the TVD debates right here on this board, the JS gives us insight into the inner-workings of the Titan squad. TVD is molding and shaping troubled youths, not working on defensive slides!

My favorite part of the article is when TVD says, "I think he is pretty proud that he's not in jail. I tell him that: 'I don't know how you're not in prison somewhere. You've got to be really proud of yourself.' ARE YOU KIDDING ME, TED? DID YOU JUST SAY THAT TO THE BIGGEST NEWSPAPER IN THE STATE?

Wow. Just went to Kolf thinking the Titans could pick up a (much needed) win against Carroll College. Carroll flat outplayed them in the 2nd half. Oshkosh had a nice (not great, but nice) first half. But they came out of the break and looked lethargic and out of sync. The Hoewisch kid could not be stopped in the 2nd half and buried the Titans.

Coming into the game, I thought about mediocrity. However, this isn't mediocrity. The Titans are bad. I think that there needs to be a serious re-evaluation of the queen bee there. What a proud tradition of dominance that is being - check that - has been dismantled.

I vow to not step foot in that facility again until something (drastic) is done. I can't stand it.

I don't need to "voice" my thoughts on this situation!

And no, I am not a former player. In fact, not even an alumn. Lets just say I have an "opinion!"

Should probably wait until we get deeper than one game in to sink the season.
U of Dubuque, Mark Noll's team, did themselves proud against UW-Milwaukee. They'll be fun to watch.

I agree, but somebody aughta tell Coach that, too!!!

Vegas has their over-under at three conference wins. I'll take the under!

As for her prestigious coaching career... Let's examine her record prior to the Onson and Tyriver years at West: From 1993-2000 her record at West: 17-113. She was a bit more successfull at Plymouth: 69-44. So, aside from the hooplah surrounding her success at West her last few years (yes, they were good!!!) her coaching record is 86-157. So for the first "half" of her career she had a winning percentage of .35. The second "half" of her career is an astonishing .78.

The argument? That it takes time to build hs programs - right. I understand. But it should (theoretically) take less than that at the collegiate level because of the recruiting process. But so many of her kids quit! Does she go after the mental midgets? Or is she that difficult to play for? EITHER WAY, IT IS KILLING THIS ONCE PROUD PROGRAM!

Sorry, I typed that last part with my fists!

Slow start my arse! I for one have had enough of Schumacher. How long will she get a free pass because she won her first season WITH PAM RUDER'S PLAYERS?!?!?!

Read this article:

Okay, if you didn't feel like cutting and pasting, let me give you the gist: blah, blah, blah, kids fault, blah, blah, blah, kids fault, blah, blah, blah, someting trite about stepping up, blah, blah, blah.

Oshkosh SHOULD NOT be the epitome of mediocrity! Look for them to be lousy the entire tenure of this coach, plus two years.

Buckets out!

Lets be fair here.  The cupboard was not exactly full when she arrived.  She was blessed with five solid players when she arrived, but not much for a bench.

But then she should've had a down year, maybe two until her recruits matured and were ready to play. Instead, what has happened? Her players the ones that SHE recruits won't stick around to play for her because either they can't hack it or they can't stand to play for her. In either case, she is ruining this once proud program.

I don't have the time nor the ambition to look this up, but doesn't it seem like she has lost a lot of upperclassmen? She rails on her kids for not having the guts to step up (in the paper, mind you!) but yet somehow her recruits dissapear after a season or two. There are a couple of high potential kids that are walking around that campus but have chosen to not stick with the program. Again, either poor recruiting or poor retention. In either case, poor coaching.

Sorry, I will take a few deep breaths and chill out!!!!

Okay, I have been silent for a while. Let me chime in.

First of all, Carollo has turned their program around. No doubt about it. Was some of it luck? Yup! But the fact of the matter is that Whitewater is #1 in the Country. She has put together some solid recruits and the ranking speaks for itself.

My question, being a Oshy fan, is how long Schumacher will be allowed a pass in Titanland? Here is one of the historically best teams in the conference that she has run into the ground. Take a look at their roster year in and year out. How many players actually stick it out with her? Very few. Tough to win consistently when you have to replace kids that quit the team. That tells one of two things.
     1) Recruiting kids that aren't mentally tough enough to stick out four years of college ball
     2) Kids flat out don't like to play for her

I have heard stories about the latter but will cover my arse by saying it doesn't even matter. In either case, she is failing the program. How long will it continue? Does the admin have the cajones to send her back to the high school ranks? Is her past (player & high school coach) in town blinding everyone? What do you all think?

Only 2 posts (Herrick, Fehring), with only Herrick getting regular playing time from last year.  OUCH.  UWO better hope no injuries nor foul trouble happen to these two this year.

Time will tell about the Titans this season.  Does anybody know much about these recruits? I think one of the better recruiting classes has to be Point.  The DeForest kid will be one of the leagues great players by the time she is a senior and the kid from Hurley isn't bad either.  They will be a good class!

erty

Very insightful Oshfan.

Actually, I know that they will only have 6 returners:

O'Keefe - SR
Herrick - SR
Fehring - SR
Eggers - SR
Knqpp - JR
Tyriver - SO

They lost Rosicky, Holler, Turtenwald to graduation - Mader and Kerczan quit the team.

Not sure about their incoming class.  Seems to this fan that they are in a down year.
