That face mask call at the end was a touch.  If you were near the field, it was easy to see.  The call did need to be made and was.

There were some officiating issues with the game, but that is not the reason the Oles lost it.  I have never experienced a more intense football game in my life.  Hopefully the Oles can make a run at it and we can meet again in the playoffs.

Good game to the Johnnies and the Oles!

All I have heard you folks talk about is how much faster your team is, especially the wide outs.  I don't understand why these rollie oles will be faster than last years rollie oles.

I am an avid Ole fan and am questioning the same thing.  I love our guys and they are amazing players, but if they haven't seemed significantly faster over the past few years, why would they seem that much faster this year?  I do think, well I'm hoping, that this will be a much better match-up this year.  I can not wait for the game on Saturday!  Should be a good one... see you fellas there.

Actually Deontae and Horace are also two of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

Wonka,
Why do you insist on individually attacking guys you don't know anything about?  Greg St. Remy is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

Deontae is a great player, spectacular some might say, but we all need to remember that players don't win games, teams do.  You can be the best player in the world but it won't mean anything if you don't have the team to back you up.

Hopefully the Oles will play a great game against Gustavus this coming Saturday.  I think they can do it, but I have a feeling Gustavus is ready to bring it.

I was also there the day Wilsey took third for career passing yards... Penz is going to be huge this year!  He had an amazing 2006 season behind that Olaf O-line.  He has quite the arm and I think he will surpass Hammond, Ohm, Wilsey, and Karpinski, and possibly Senske.    Thank goodness that he still has Schmies to throw to this season after his outstanding achievement in baseball.  St. John, well both of them, are great football players as well, and Horace has amazing speed  Endsley is another player to look to for leadership in his return yardage.  This offense is quite experienced and I would say have proven themselves to be great, I'm hoping the defense is better this year and can bring this team together to make this another great season for the Oles.

The game versus St. John's is always the date I look for first when checking out the upcoming year's schedule... can't wait for it!

As for the Florida thing, I believe that one of the coaches previously coached there or something like that to start the recruiting process and as more guys from florida come up, they recruit friends from home for the next year.

I know personally, as an Ole fan,  I enjoy reading these postings daily.  They are entertaining and often enough, informative.  I don't usually post but felt as if I should now.

It really doesn't matter how well your team did in high school anymore... Putting a few players from a past successful team on a current team together does not guarantee anything.  There are over 100 other guys they have to work with to find their way to success together as a team.

St. Olaf does not have a great past of defense as a whole.  They really need to step it up this year.

Talking some serious crap will always be a part of fooball, and it's great!  But if you don't have the team to back you up, you deserve all the crap you receive. St. John's football is amazing, no one can deny that no matter how much you hate to admit it.  They can talk the crap because their team has repeatedly backed them up. That doesn't mean that no one else can talk, just be prepared for the fire you may receive in return.

I can not begin to express my excitement for this coming football season!  It is going to be another great year!  Good luck to all MIAC teams and we'll see you on the field!

True true.  We do indeed have a few tougher games ahead of us.  I do think that the Oles can do it though!  They gotta step it up a little bit after this last weeks game but I feel like they can pull through and hopefully get a spot in the playoffs.

It's so quiet from the Ole fans, on here, you'd think it was November 12th or something!!

I know it seems like the Ole fans are quiet, but some of us were never obnoxiously talking crap on here in the first place.  I religiously read this board because I love football and love the MIAC but just don't feel the need to try and bash a football team that I have to worry about beating my team, and as it turns out that was a smart decision by me.  The Johnnies played far better than the Oles.  But that is not the Olaf team that I have seen all year.  I will not use excuses like the refs bad calling.  That is not what lost the game.  If your team should win, you should win regardless of the calls made against your team in the game.  It may have changed the momentum in the beginning but as a team they should have known that it sucks and to just bring it that much harder.  that did not happen.  Congrats on the win Johnnies!!  Good luck to all MIAC teams!   And good luck to the Oles, who knows might still make it to playoffs this year.
