Matt ... I am in awe of your ability to research and crunch obscure grid stats ... and your willingness to share them with the rest of us dough brains is admirable ... thanks

What a joy it was to experience today's classic between Bridgewater and W&L. Anyone who saw the game held their breath for nearly three hours. As an earlier poster noted, W&L clearly battled the Eagles on even terms, but the Eagles, with a courageous effort keyed by their special teams and unyielding goal line defense, proved to have the heart of a champion and eked out the win. This was a afternoon where two "teams" left a lasting impression. I honestly don't believe that any "individuals" particularly proved anything, but that's the way it should be when all involved are winners. The fans were great on both sides; the tension on the field was palpable; the day was drop-dead gorgeous, and all of us who were privileged to attend will forever share a memory of a very special Saturday afternoon.

Thank goodness that all these "discussions" about team performance are ultimately settled between the lines. As to deciding who is the best player ... gee. I dunno ... was it Ted Williams or Joe DiMaggio? ... there is a wealth of spectacular talent in the ODAC this season ... shouldn't we all just sit back and enjoy their gifts and the spectacular manner in which they share them with us? ... after all, might it not be possible that the "best" player in the conference is some right tackle we've never heard of?
