The problem is with Coe's Offense :'(,   and that all but one of their offensive coaches is under the age of 25.  With their offense from past years this team would be winning the conference.    Unfortunately, it takes both.  Which side of the ball does the older Staker coach?

Way to go Kohawks! Way to respond with your backs against the wall.

Congrats to the Kohawks!  What a great win!  All I can say is "WHO IS CALLING THE OFFENSE?"    Sputtering, sputtering and boring. What's up with the call just before halftime?   INT for a TD????   BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD decision not punting it away on 4th down with a 14 point lead.   This game should not have been close from what the announcers were saying.

What an uncharacteristic performance by the Coe defense giving up all of these yards rushing the past two weeks.   What is wrong with Breitbach?  Hurt?

Bring on the Knights!  The IIAC is upside down!  Ya Hoo!   There's life in Kohawk land ;)  At lease we're in the hunt!

Way to go Beavers!

The BV win really brought out the Beaver talk, if Loras manages to beat Coe (which essentially none of you think will happen), we'll have an 'ole hoops board reunion on our hands.

Coe is 2-2 in the past 4 years against Loras.  It is always a great game - but hopefully the Coe players remeber that.  That being said, i think loras has fallen a little bit very quickly

Coe will have to deal with that Loras defense which is # 1 in scoring and # 1 in rush defense.   I hope Atwater is as nervous about this game as he was about Cornell..... ;D

And what about that #1 for Loras at receiver.   The Coe d-backs will have their hands full!   Bringing some pressure might help!  I am very worried about this game.   This will be the real tell tale sign of how the Kohawks will be this season.   In front of their homecoming crowd the last time we played Loras in 06, we lost.

Driver,

I heard they had several guys from Freddie's school looking favorable at Coe.  Is that what you are talking about?   I also heard about the O-linemen that are transferring.  Anyone here anything further on that?  Heard they were some local names.

As far as Coe goes next fall, they will only go as far as their young O-Line will take them.   Currently they are extremely depleted at this position.   Their defense is good but can not score all the points.

Cochuck,

I thought that Coe had a bunch of young players at OL last year.  I thought that two years ago they had all seniors.  Were the players last years seniors as well? I agree with your statement about the OL though.  They are the unsung heroes of the team.  They will only take a team as far.  Having said that a Defense will keep an young offense in a game.  I know the Central's case that is what happened in 05.  The D kept them in the games and the O came through with enough points to get the W.  Sometimes the special teams had to put the points on the board.  The Wartburg game comes to mind there.

Two of them are graduated, and just because the others are young does not mean they will automatically turn into good players.

Charlie do you know if Staker wasn't interested or Coe wasn't interested?
He applied and (I think) would have been an excellent choice. However, he wasn't selected for an interview. Given John Chandler's track record, I'm not concerned.

Staker basically got stiffed by Coe.   Charlie, if John Chandler is such a genius then why has Coe never won the All-Sports trophy?  Why don't they have any better facilities as a result of his great relationship with all the wealthy alumni?

Staker could have got the job done in recruiting.

I would agree that Coach Staker got stiffed but I do think Chandler is a great AD.  He cares about the athlete which is what you want if you're a player.   His hands are just tied!   Coe really missed and opportunity here by not at least letting him interview.   What do you think will happen now if he stays on staff?

and Charlie, there is at least one of the candidates that is an O-Coordinator and has never been a head coach, can you guess which one?

You are probably right in the fact that Chandler has his hands tied.  I know he has worked hard to get the improvements to the facilities that they have upgraded recently.   Alumni like myself just get frustrated when Coe has such a great potential to be a contender in every single sport.

Has anyone talked with Walker about what happened with Raeburn?  If anyone would know, he would be the one.

Or we could just lose 3 games early on and be out of the race all season long. Take a page out of the Coe playbook and and save the heartache altogether.

Walston, you're so much cooler "online"

It is three years after the Clone Wars. The Jedi council assigns Anakin to spy on Chancellor Palpatine, as Anakin is forming a close friendship with the politician. Palpatine constantly tries to manipulate Anakin into believing that the Jedi Council is against him.  Anakin learns Chancellor Palpatine is the mysterious Sith Lord Darth Sidious and is the mastermind behind the war.   Jedi Master Mace Windu fights him, along with three other Jedi that accompany Windu. They all fail.  Anakin becomes Darth Vader, believing that he can save Padme from death by becoming evil. After a fierce battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin, Anakin gets fried by the lava at Mustafar. Chancellor Palpatine takes him to a medical facility, where he gets fake legs and a fake arm attached to him, along with a breath mask, and a helmet. And thus, Darth Vader was born... With Anakin turned to the Dark Side, could this mean the fall of the Republic and the end of the Jedi Order?

As it is, Luther is now 1-3 and certainly won't finish better than 6-4 and I would guess 5-5. I guess things aren't as good up north as some would try to have us believe.

One point to make here, Walston.  Tyler Sherden is not playing this season after having surgery in the summer (I forget what he had surgery on but he chose to have it in the summer so he could run track this season).  I am not making an excuse for the Norse, they got outplayed by the Knights on Saturday, but I know anyone on this board who has seen Sherden run the ball would agree that he is a playmaker and the Norse offense would have a completely different look with #28 in the backfield.  He has received a medical redshirt for this season and will be eligible to play next year.  Hopefully the Norse will be able to rebound from the two early conference losses and finish strong.

Why do we always have to here about Sherden?  Can't Luther get some other guys to start making some plays?  Coe looses their starting 1st Team all-conference QB in the preseason and you don't see them making excuses.  They just keep on keep'n on........

Tony are you even a Ram fan? Warthog I Really don't think us cornell fans are bragging about our two wins or our 2-0 start and maybe that isn't what you are saying. I see nothing wrong in a school trying to revive its tradition and pride that was once there. To be honest I would have been posting on here for years but I felt as a player you shouldn't write on these types of things. I know there were a few other guys like that as well. I know a few of the ram fans that have been posting are recent graduates and I bet they are posting now that they are not playing not because of a 2-0 start. I think the posts by the real fans of Cornell have all been good and I haven't sensed any sort of bragging or cockiness from them. We are just excited about all the new things that are happening at Cornell, which I think Walston said.

As I stated earlier, the real criticism should be held for Central and Coe and their lack of fans on this site.
Coecoenut and Cochuck where are you?

I'm still here CooCoo, just busy and enjoying the season thus far.  I will admit that I have been very disappointed with the care of the fields again for my son and our team.   A soccer double header on the game field Monday in the  rain.   What were they thinking?  It's a total mess.....

Sounds like sour grapes SportKnight.........    You and your classless teeshirts about TeKippe.  Nice touch.  See you next year when we return 17 starters.  10 on offense.
