I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on who to watch for when at the Carrol vs. Monmouth game. I live about 5 minutes from the stadium and was thinking of going to the game.

Even though I haven't been doing the picks. Here is the way I see things unfolding.

La Crosse over Stout: In a close one. Last second field goal.
Whitewater over Oshkosh: By at least 10.
River Falls fights off Platteville in a high scoring affair.
Eau Claire stays in contention for conference championship with a convincing win over Point.   ;D

Anybody got some insight on why the Eagles can't put it together with the cattle they breed there?

The team attitude changed from we suck, have no fans, had a losing season in 1999 to...we're pretty good, but can we beat anybody else who's good (Mount Union) and can we take over the town like in the olden days. Last season, we improved individually as talent is concerned but as a team it seemed like we might have thought we were too good to play every game with 100%.

Is that happening this year?  It seems like we have another premium batch of players...a pretty experienced line, quality RB's, STUD Wideouts ( the best group of 3 in the nation) 2 QB's who should be starters on any team.  Solid DB's led by the future record breaker for career INT's in Teeples, and a stable full of LB's and D-Line that are excellent individual talents.

Who thinks they are better than the team?  Who thinks they are doing a good job and is not being told otherwise?  Is it injuries?  All these things are poison to any team.

Sorry for the rant, I just want to know why my Eagles can't run the show with the amount of talent they have.

Wasn't it in 2001 that La Crosse had a losing season not 1999!

QuoteIf he goes out in the playoffs and puts on a major display than maybe he does deserve a little more respect but at this point he hasn't proved anything.

2nd round vs. UW La Crosse
456 yards 5 TD's

Quarterfinals vs. OXY
402 yards 7 TD's

Semi-Finals vs. Rowan
254 yards 3 TD's

Stagg Bowl vs. UMHB
282 yards 2 TD's

2004 Playoffs
1,394 yards 17 TD's
349 Yards and 4 TD's per game...

Aruguably his best game against your conference champion...I would say he proved it against the best D3 has to offer to date...

Those were stats from last year and shouldn't play a factor in this years voting. If he repeats that performance than he might be worthy of a vote.

I retract all my previous posts. Let's all vote for the Linfield guy. In fact, let's vote for a d3 guy every year! And if we all really try hard, a d3 guy will win, or place high all the time, and we will have effectivly ruined the once highly thought of Heisman Award! After we accomplish that, maybe we can figure a way to get highschool players nominated for the Gag award.

Oldpa-

I agree with you Oldpa. We could vote every year for a d3 player but wouldn't that be ruining what the award truly stands for. Seriously how can you vote for Brett Elliot even if he is tearing up his competition? If you look at their season so far the closest game they have had was a 15-point win against Whitworth. All the rest of their games have been blowouts.  So really how good has the level of competition been to this point in the season.  If he goes out in the playoffs and puts on a major display than maybe he does deserve a little more respect but at this point he hasn't proved anything.

I'm new to the message board. But have followed for years. The one question I have is how is La Crosse still ranked and Eau Claire isn't?   ???
