Just wanted to say "Hi" to HSScoach and everybody from UWW. So glad to see my Warhawks play today  I remember my visi to campus when Coach LLeipold had me Pound the rock with the guys!! It was a tremendous honor. They looked great on the field in their unis!!  Boy, do I remember Jace & AJ,  Mark Garonski (sp) & so many more who I cheered for at the Stagg Bowl in SALEM & brought cookies to after the game. I'm too old now, The Stagg is in Shenandoah, Texas, but I'm going to root for my UWW team!!
Love,
        OLINEMOM :)

Congratulations to UWW on an outstanding performance! I was really proud of the way the O-Line played with such intensity.  In fact everybody played so very well in the game!! I do believe that WIWA is indeed a true statement. I certainly enjoyed meeting the o-liners at the 2 dinners, seeing Coach Jimmy (with short hair: what a revelation!), meeting the new o-line coach. So glad you'all enjoyed the brownies!! Say, why don't we do this next year??  I'm also planning another trip to campus for a football weekend!!  On another note it was so great to see so many d3football.com friends at Stone Station, especially meeting Mr. Mom for the first time.  I am almost thawed out & I guess Kitchen Sink is back on the bus wending his way back up north. Hope that snow storm I saw on the Weather channel doesn't hinder the return journey!!  It could never be as bad as the Snowmagedon of 2009. Safe travels from the land of the ODAC,  co-sponsor of the D3 National Football Championshop.

Congrats on getting  a ticket to your home away from home!!  I will see you'all as usual on Wednesday at the Gagliardi award presentation.  I sure hope Coach L Kehres (emeritus/retired) will accompany the Mount Union contingency to their southern home base. It looks like old times as the other team has their home sweet southern home in Salem too.  UWW assures the Stag Bowl of its traditional all purple extravaganza.  I am looking forward to renewing acquaintances with my D3 post pattern friends. I'm staying at the Holiday. INN-Express this year instead of the Days Inn. Looking to next week--my Christmas present to me

Gosh. I just went back to read posts leading up to the great hard-fought win today. I didn't realize that I had stirred up such controversy a week ago.  But when one team has to go thru #2 (Linfield-one my favorie teams btw) and #5 (UMHB-another of my fave. teams) then it is more difficult than the other side of the draw. Period. I have never dissed or demeaned a team in my life.  Didn't anybody else look at the rankings??

I    L O V E  D 3   F O O T B A L L!!!      All the teams

Yes!  Like old times. My team is back where they are supposed to be!  I'm so happy for you guys!  Can't wait to see you'all next Wednesday!! I'm hoping that all the snow of this week will give way to better weather for next week's festivities.  Pound the rock before you fly into Salem. Hope someone will bring me a UWW pin for luck. I didn't get one the last time. .  .  . See you in 4!!

Congrats, Roucru!! Glad your team won and is continuing toward the championship game!! I don't like having 2 of my favorite teams playing against each other while Mount Union gets the easier route (like usual). I hope the game is well fought with no injuries on either side and that you will be able to make it to Salem this year. I already have my room and tickets to the 2 banquets and game. I hope to see others there as well!! :) :) :)

Hey, guys.  We are braving the elements and are setting up on the boulevard, south side of the Perk parking lot next to the road that runs in front of the Perk.  Look for a silver QX56 SUV with Illinois plates!  Will havering a fire pit going and hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps for those who are willing to cowboy up!  All are welcome! Love to meet up with any Cat fans who made the trip!   GO WARHAWKS   ;D ;)

Wish I could have been there. I have already got my room & tickets for the Salem experience. Sure hope to see friends there!!!

Way to go UWW!! Glad you are still on the road to Salem. What I don't understand is why you always have the harder route there (ie. Playing Linfield & UMHB) than another team thar always seems to have an easier route.  Just saying. .  .  . I sure am looking to seeing you in 2 weeks in Salem,  so play hard!!! Tell the coach(es) that I'll need a UWW pin for good luck, so bring an extra one.  Can't wait!!  Go WARHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Completely off topic, but before the talk on the boards die down, any Whitewater people-can you recommend a good place to eat that is open until at least 10 pm on a Friday night? Thanks.

Given the time frame and day, are you looking to avoid the drunken student bar scene? Or will you be participating in it?
It will be a Friday night and since I will be driving back to Chicago afterward, I will unfortunately not be able to participate. ;D
In Salem, Mac & Bob's.  Can't remember the place in downtown Roanoke, sorry.

Packing up the 12 pans (24 dozen) of brownies in the Gritmobile, getting ready to roll towards Salem.  Looking forward to seeing everybody!! I like that idea of a d3 posters' picture.  Ryan took one several years ago and it was a blast.  There was a sign-up board just to see who was there. Hope someone makes one up for this year.  It wasn't a piece of paper, but something substantial.  Can't remember what it was (that's from being old, I'm sure!) Over and out.

I'm not nearly so excited about my preparations for going to the Stagg Bowl weekend as usual because my favorite team and all the UWW fans won't be there.  You know you just get used to having your team come that it's seems a foregone conclusion.  then, after the Oshkosh game, I thought, well, maybe I'll cheer for them.  At least they'll be from the same conference.  But no, the Tommies came up big, although I heard that Nate had a broken pinkie finger.  Don't know if that was a factor or not.  I'm just not thrilled with the options.  But I finally made the decision to go last weekend, bought the tickets for the 2 banquets and the game.  I'm making the brownies this evening and will leave tomorrow.  Just as well to get out of town as the 2 year anniversary of Mom's death was this weekend.  Whom to cheer for?  I'm going to choose a table of players at the Gagliardi banquet and sit with them.  I'll ask which team they play for and that's whom I'll cheer for. Seems as fair as any other way.  I'm looking forward to meeting Nate Wara.  He's one of the 4 finalists that will be there.  The one from W & L will also be there.  those are the 2 I have seen play. I will enjoy that part of it for sure.  While making the brownies, I'm making some and sending them to Coach Gagliardi.  The last time I sent him brownies was in 2003 when his team beat a certain team who had beaten my boys 66 - 0 the week before.  What a nightmare that was.  I guess none of you are coming, but I'll be thinking of you.  My ticket is on the Press box side, 50 yard line on the concourse level.  No steps at all.  My best to you all, Especially to my OLiners!!!

Olinemom welcomes the Tommies to Salem and the Stagg Bowl this week.  To the fans, please come by Stone Station for some good eats. I'm in charge of the brownies which I also make for both of the teams that play in the game.  We represent Bridgewater College which belongs to the ODAC, the conference that hosts the Stagg Bowl.  If you ask  the fans of UWW or MU, UMHB or Linfield, they will tell you we have a pretty good tailgate the day of the big game.  I leave tomorrow as I like to attend all the activities of the week:  the Gagliardi banquet, the Championship banquet and the game. Since my #1 and #2 teams didn't make it this year, I'll need to decide for whom to cheer.  I plan on choosing a table of players at the Gagliardi and sitting with them and asking them for which team they play.  That seems as fair a way as any.  As it's the usual ALL PURPLE STAGG BOWL, I'll be wearing purple.  I'm quite interested in watching you'all (yes, I'm southern) play as you beat the team that beat my 2 teams (UWW and Linfield).  I saw Oshkosh play this fall and was impressed with them so beating them the way you did makes this Stagg Bowl very interesting for me.  See you'all this week. Safe travels.

So who all is coming down for the big game? HScoach?  skunk? skunks_sidekick?  Theaprof? Ric? 70sRaider & Kevin? Kehresma? Raiderpa? PurpleReign?  I am beginning to bake the brownies in about 1/2 hour.  You know the drill--some for each team playing the game and then some for the Stone Station tailgate before the game.  I'll be leaving for Salem tomorrow around lunchtime.  I've got tickets for the Gagliardi banquet, the banquet with the teams on Thursday and the game on  Friday evening, Press box side, 50 yard line on the concourse.  I can't do stairs anymore. Getting old and decrepit.  Now that my #1 team didn't make it to Salem this year and my #2 team didn't either, I need to decide whom to cheer for.  I think I'm going to choose a table of players at the Gagliardi banquet and sit with them.  You can't tell which team is which at that venue like you can at the Championship banquet.  I'll ask which team they play for and voila, I'll have a team for this year.  I think it's the only fair way to decide.  This is one of my favorite events of the year, my Christmas present to myself.  It's supposed to be sunny (yippee) toward the end of the week!!  For those who came during the snowy year, that was soooooooo difficult!  Again thanks to the MU fans who got me to the field!  I want to say it was Raiderpa, but I'm probably mistaken.  It was a nice 4 wheel drive machine, that I do remember. Hope to see many of you Friday or before.  Gee---another purple Stagg, who would have thunk it????  TEE HEE!!!!

A great season in 2012, but we can reload for 2013!  I so wanted the Red and Purple to come to Salem this year.   Another year!! Gave Karma to all my friends.  Have a Merry Christmas and a grand New Year. I'll be sitting on the side with the Press Box where the second tier of seats begin, at the 50 yard line.  It's the side that Linfield was on when you'all were here last time. You know, last time that UMHB went up to Mt Union for a semi-final game, they beat Mt. Union--the year they met you'all in the Stagg. Have to see what next Saturday brings.
