Naperville is a whooole lot nicer of a town than anything I've ever heard about Decatur...

I'll second that....not that the QC is anything to shout about   :P

78-70 Final from Augie.

Congrats to the Vikes on back to back NCAA tourny bids!

Just imagine what his stats would have been if Wessels hadn't owned him in the two Augie games
13.5 ppg
32% fg
8 TO"S

Yet another reason Drew shouldn't be overlooked for MOP

I tend to think that Drew gets looked over because he does not have the offensive numbers that the others have, however Wessels is a one man press...when Drew isn't in the game Augie's Defense simply is no where near as good as it is when he is playing...

Ahh the calm before the storm....

I'm not trying to jinx anyone, but if I know the guys on the team and and Coach G, they have to be one of the more determined groups in the confrence...after the loss up at Carthage, and a near miss at home against Wheaton, I would not want to play the Vikes in the up coming week and a half...

Yes Augie has a scary game down in Bloomington, however I would expect Elmhurst to stumble at least one more time giving the Vikes a 2 game lead with 3 games remaining...

Just my two cents!   ;D

Right now I'd say it's a safe bet to start making hotel reservations in the QCA for the second year in a row....

Boy These Wheaton Announcers have become very quick to criticize the officals as things have gone south for the Thunder.  Augie by 3 61-58 with 1:15 left

The Titan travelers have been known to turn other gyms into a 'home court'; if Elmhurst can turn the Shirk into a home court, that would be a first! ;)

I do remember last year when Augie came down to the shirk there were quite a few current students and alumni, along with players parents and friends that made the trip down to Bloomington, and we by no means were able to out number the Green nation....That would be quite a feat!

Late,

I couldn't have said it  better myself!

That is true, but when you have so many people stepping up and posting their support for Coach G. (both Augie Fans and others).  Perhaps you should set back and listen to people that have had the opportunity to talk with the man and have gotten to know him...

As I've previously said once you've sat down and talked and gotten to know Coach G then you can say whatever you want about him, but until then don't judge him by what you see on the court!

IF you are going to sit here and bring up the CCIW sportsmanship code or conduct and then say in the same breath that it is ok for fans to yell during a free throw, but if a coach gives his players instructions during that time he is considered a poor sport.  This is the biggest double standard I've ever heard of Please just drop this topic and get back to basketball....

It's no wonder people take a break from posting on this board whenever anyone has an opinion that differs from the majority of those on the board (i.e. Augie fans sticking up for Coach G.) they get crucified

Nope...I just have some connections   :P... all joking aside I have been trying to change the name to Brick for awhile, and I could never get the system to accept the name...

I'm not trying to have "tough guy" responses, this is just the way that I was raised...my father coached both basketball and football, I've watched coaches yell, scream, and even physically touch their players.  I've played football for coaches like Coach G...I once had a coach kick me from behind because I was walking back to the line.  Did I view this person as a role model?  No, but I did realize that he was a good coach, and he was right I shouldn't have been walking back to the line...

Everyone is too quick to jump all over a coach or player for their on court personalities, when they have never talked with or seen that coach/player outside of the gym....
