Red, you elitist crybaby, face, Bates just isn't that good, neither is Bowdoin for that matter, but you guys ALWAY use the "injury" excuse....SUCK IT UP....you act like you teams are the only oonles with hurt players......Also, Wiliam's doesn't make it out of the 1st weekend they also are not that good....IT SURE HELPS WHEN YOUR LEAGUE MINIPLULATES THE SYSTEM BY ONLY PLAYING EACH TEAM IN THE CONFERENCE ONCE.....and don't even try to tell me that it is not a QOWI advantage....everyone know it is

RED...stop crying.....Bates in or out they are not beating any good teams....they haven't thus far this year save one upset that was just corrected.....

Enough all of you NESCAC people love to bitch and moan so and so is hurt so and so has been hplaying with an injury and now "she's been playing with a bad back all year"...ENOUGH.....every team in the country has key people playing hurt.......it is not a factor you play with what you have and thats it.....its championship time...stop making excuses

Been following Brandeis boxes, figuring USM would see them along the way in NCAA's, Allen, you can't win games when you are constantly getting out rebounded and players shoot 6-21. Seems since Brandeis got into Conference play they don't rebound, I thought they were pretty big when I saw them at NYU. Maybe that non conference schedule is telling.

Kudos.........That is a pet peve with a lot of people, All Tournamnet teams, weekly and conference honors not only in the MAc but all over simply go to the high scorers......it seems to be inbred from high school when all the newspapers write about are the high scorers...its a shame.

I was at an ECAC tounament last year and watch a point guard, dominate, 5-6 assists a game, 8 points a game, steals defense...EVERY GAME (3 games) and her center who averaged 15 points and had 2 horiffic games got the MVP...it was a joke......similarly I saw a Christmas Tournament this year, same point guard CONTROLLED the games, 7 assists, 40 minutes in one game 6 assists no turnovers 6 points(against another top 25 team) per game, they won the tournament and the three top scorers on the winning team made the All Tournament team and got the MVP and one of the player was flat out terrible and score when the games were in hand and the Point was cheering from the bench....a joke to be sure.

At some point you would hope these coaches/SID's and others would get it

Just returned and I can honestly say I am glad I spent the extra day in "the Big Apple", my interview went well, did some site seeing and went to the NYU Cole Sports Center to take in the NYU/Brandeis game. Let me start by saying that the facility is pretty cool, 2 story's under ground with people hanging over the railings 1 and 2 floors UP to ground level watching the game. Weather was a nightmare getting home this morning but other then that, wow. Suprised there is nothing to read about the game. Hey I saw Allen, not hard to miss, he wore a shirt that said on the back "I'm Allen", I should have went over and introduced myself but I really didn't think about it at the time.

As for the game, here are my thoughts, remember this is the only game I have seen of either team so its based on one game:

Brandeis has much more talent then NYU.
There was some serious, HOME COOKING for NYU.
NYU was much more emotional then Brandeis on the court, they are crazy physical and the home cooking really helped with that aspect of the game.
Brandeis opened a 10-1 lead, the center picked up her 2 foul and sat the whole rest of the 1st half, about 18 minutes, could have just ended it there but .....
I think the NYU out coached Brandeis, they frequently subed to get fresh bodies on the floor, stayed agressive and that helped take advantage of the officiating.
Most of the Brandeis subs looked lost and fumbled the ball more often then they caught it cleanly.
Brandeis is obviously hurting physically, the starter had the point guard with a slight limp and some funky bandage up her whole leg, and there were braces on two other players knees and at least 3 of the subs wore braces as well.
Cosidering the turn overs, that NYU to 20 more shots and the officiating I would think Brandeis wins in a rout next time they play.
NYU gave Coach Quinn a game ball for 400 wins.
NYU crowd and band really make that gym a home court advantage and did I mention the HOME COOKING.
You can tell how difficult it must be to win there, unless Wash U or the other UAA teams are really on their game, I don't think NYU will lose another home game.
Technical Foul on Brandeis (I still don't know what it was for) with about 1:30 left led to 4 point play, Brandeis then took the lead and I still can't believe that the "little" point from NYUdashed down court and made that lay up  to make it a 2 point win with 2 seconds left.

All in all, NYU won and that will boost them and Brandeis will drop but, Brandeis is much more talented (but not as deep) and I think that Brandeis will fare better this season and if they get healthy will make a big run. Anyone who thinks either of these teams can't play with USM, Bate, Bowdoin are in for a rude awakening come NCAA tournament time.

Well, USM holds onto the number 1 ranking, I though Brandeis might slip in.

Considering the cake schedule that USM has the rest of the way, I guess we will remain on top until the NCAA Tournament.

Interesting that Wash U got 2 first place votes, looks like the UAA is shaping up to have a heck of a competitive season based on Rochester playing so well and I just looked at the records of UAA teams, pretty outstanding.

Hey Pop......(do you want to come out and Playayayyyyyyy)

Fisrt, nooooooobody said it was 10 points a game for the career

Second, on a bad bad team, I don't care if somebody scores 1500 points.....nothing worse then some kid taking every shot under the sun, scoring 1000 points and on a team that can't win 50% of their games.........ITS ABOUT WINNING NOT SCORING

I am going to have move to the UAA board at least you have Allen, Sandman, Bearswatcher and Jag, the NORTHEAST is dead! I don't know whats up with everyone but not like previous years on the NE boards. So since Brandeis is in the Northeast, I will pay closer attention.  Allen great recap of the Rochester game on the Blogs, I think that being battle tested early and surviving will help any team and Rochester can't be to bad after beating NYU at NYU. USM had another cakewalk as did Bowdoin so the NE big three keep rolling along. Also, cangrats on the Brandeis milestones this weekend.

Come you are not trying to make a case that Husson is any good are you? Look I will root us home, but be realistic, USM is OK and will remain #1 in the country simply because we will not lose as the LEC is as weak as they come with USM the exception.
