That was the team that started the game, but their conditioning was a factor as well as sloppy play...The WASPS just really hit them in the mouth to start the second half and it was over pretty much at the ten minute mark. The pressure really effected them.

For you USA South fans that were down on the system...Emory and Henry dominates Greensboro tonight 111-95 in Emory. I really wish Methodist could play at Emory this year for a little payback game. As a lot of teams have found out in the past, Emory is an extremely tough place to play. This game had Bob Johnson toughness written all over it for the WASPS...

In response to patcummings post...i think there is only maybe 3 or 4 people who post on here from E & H...so excuse them if they have other things going on in their lives so that they arent able to post every hour...I attended the Emory and Henry game versus Hampden-Sydney as an ODAC fan and supporter...the attendance figure has to be accurate if not under...the atmosphere was great...I have been to all of the ODAC venues and Emory and Henry on Saturday was one of the best if not the best atmospheres I have encountered...

In response to all the fun all the posters are having with the Emory picture...thats definitey the beginning of the game when the weather was not very good...lets not forget that the team won 1 game that year so that would have had an impact on attendance. I think i remember that game and am willing to bet that more peope came as the first quarter wore on...come to Emory this weekend and count the people...there might be a few hundred...

October 01, 2007, 07:33:17 PMI checked the E&H site and it says that Fullerton Field seats 5500. I would definitely expect to see the stands filled, as u will for most games these days...take into count prolly 500 who watch the game from around the field, and being homecoming this week the 1500-2000 roaming from the tailgate field to the game and I would guarantee that there will be no less than 8000 people at the game saturday.
Also it should be noted that Emory travels extremely well...At Washington and Lee's senior day last year I would say the stands were 50/50 and there was definitely twice as many fans at the Ferrum game this year in favor of the Wasps.

Good luck to the Marlins this weekend. Also does anyone know if they are having the senior all-star game this year like last year. If so, who is representing the ODAC?

Just wanted to see if I could get some feedback on the Regional games this weekend. Are the games always played on campus of one of the teams in the Regionals? Being a fan of the ODAC, I am happy to see that Wesleyan will be hosting this year. I am however a little confused as to why Wesleyan was awarded homecourt for the second year in a row. Shouldn't they have to go on the road somewhere this year after staying in the state of Virginia throughout last year's run? Also, Wooster is not awarded for being the top team in their regional if I am correct. Just seems like they should play these games at nuetral sites so that teams can't use their homecourt advantage. Everyone knows that it plays a huge part in wins and losses. Not saying that Wesleyan was not the best team in the nation last year, or perhaps this year...but by letting all teams play at nuetral sites would be fair.

just got back home after the emory-guilford game...i just am a little upset about sludge's coments. these two teams played their hearts out and it was truly sad to see someone lose...both teams have probably the two classiest coaches in the nation...emorys seniors showed some big time class and respect by honoring coach johnsons wife before the game...as well guilfords players were very respectful towards emory's seniors...the refs did not decide the game...it was a classic...sludge we will see yall again

What are the tiebreaker situations. I know that the loser of the sydney-macon game will be the 6th seed, but what about 3,4, and 5. Say Emory and Roanoke both win Saturday...Who would get what seed and based on what tiebreaker??? What if both lose??? Who gets the tiebreaker with E&H, Roanoke, and the winner of the HSC-RMC game??? What if Emory wins and Roanoke loses or vice versa...just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or facts on the upcoming situation.
Hopefully for Emory there will be no need for a tiebreaker if they beat GC on Saturday. GC is definitely a big time team this year, and it will take a heck of an effort for the Wasps to knock them off. Hopefully GC will be looking ahead to the ODAC tournament...Special day for Wasp seniors Korey Townsend, Hank Luton, Anthony Hairston, Lance Reasback, and Danny Cantone. Gonna miss them...

.... partcularly with all of the preseason hype, including the preseason ranking.
Preseason rankings don't mean that much, really. So much can happen to make a season better or worse, like the illness of a top performer.
A bunch of close games have been lost since Kaase's injury and my bet is that his presence might have made the difference, given that he was averaging about 16 points a game when he ACL tore:
To Shenandoah by 1 point.
To Randolph-Macon by 1 point.
To Bridgewater by 3 points.
To Emory & Henry by 8 ... in the last couple of minutes.
The Tigers have won 60% of their games, all together -- I think that's a good (though not a great) season. With Kaase playing, maybe they'd be 16-4 instead of 12-8.
As Allsky7 has said, a great end to the season, with 3 wins in the ODAC tournament, and the Tigers will forget about the close ones they've lost.
Lets not forget that Emory and Henry was ahead by about 16 points late in that Sydney game before Sydney made a run...Playing that game at home certainly help pull the Tigers back into the game, but they did not lose it as Emory more so won the game...

Listened to the Emory-Washington and Lee game last night...Emory came back from about 15 to actually go ahead a few times late in the game. Apparently Halkitus missed a 3 pointer in the closing seconds in which Hank Lutton had the rebound but lost it to a Washington and Lee player and they eventually scored with 2 seconds left. Seems like it was a bit of a scramble at that point. The Wasps seemed to have some momentum and if Lutton doesn't lose that rebound I am positive it would have gone to overtime and the Wasps would have won it. Tough loss and a tough stretch for the Wasps. Looking forward to seeing them Saturday.

Caught my second Emory and Henry game tonight as they hosted Lynchburg. They thoroughly dominated the whole game and won by about 40 points. This same team looks much more focused since the last time I saw them in a sluggish loss to Hampden-Syndey. They honored a senior, #44, tonight for Emory and it was great to see him go out with a win. I believe he graduated early. Everyone got into the action tonight and scoring seemed to be very balanced. My favorite players for us continue to #14 Cantone, #3 JD Dyson, wow is he fast and he really gets after it on D. # 12 Lutton seems to be a glue guy for this team and it looks like guys really look to him for some leadership. Weinz and Hart are the young scorers for this team and I really hope they continue to carry the team offensively.
So first semester is over for this team and they look good, and plus a huge addition comes after break as Lance Reasbeck rejoins the team. Look out ODAC.
