so here are my picks for first team all-conference besides the O-Line. You have to watch the oline to know who is good, and obviously you cant be at every game. So ill let the coaches handle that.

First Team All-conference

RB- Roland Hilliard
      Teron Bush

FB- Jeremy Robertson- This is a hard pick to find, but this guy obviously should win, 21 att. for 102 yds. 2 TD and no loss on the season rushing.

WR- Hughley
                  Doleman

TE- Chris silk

Second Team

RB- Kyle Wilson
      Mike Hill

FB- Rob Herbin

QB- Justin Price

WR- Shel Leverette
       Chuck Howard

TE- Andrew Gurley

Defensive all conference coming soon.

Narch, i agree with your predictions i was goin to go through all the stats and post my own choices but you did it for me. I also like hughley for OPOTY. He deserves it.

Defensive lineman All-conference

DE- Colby townsend-MC

DE- Deshaun Parker- CNU

DT- John Northern- MU

DT- Travis Kivett- NCWC

Now as far as linebackers go, im not goin to suggest who i want there because i know it will bring some attention to it and people would say that i only done it because i went to methodist but i will make a mock one just to see what people  think.

LB- BLake Farrell
LB- Daryl Lawerence
LB- Chris Gauntlett

Those three are my predictions of who should get all-conference on the defensive side of the ball. But i dont pick em, the coaches do. so we will see.

Congrats to CNU take care of W&J. I know you havent had much success in the playoffs in past history, but its time boys. Show the rest of d3 what we are about in this conference and win some big ones. Boys, just a little insight. If you get through the first one, the second round could be the same team you have beaten already this year. Do your thing fellas.

And the story continues for this conference. Will we ever have a single conference champ. Good job AU, you deserve it. Hughley, props to you man, you are a fantastic athlete and they are lucky to haver had a player with your heart and dedication.

Looking to next year, Monarchs are young, but talented. Work hard in the offseason and get the job done first in the weight room.

I would like to say i have been very impressed this year with the play of NCWC. Their running back and QB will lead next year and i think they will be the team to beat.

I think the conference is getting stronger and has every year. Look at this for an example. The conference has had two different champions every year and they have been different. CNU and SU has won it twice together, but then you got, Ferrum, Methodist, and now this year i think AU will be the other one. I think that says something for the competitiveness of our conference. Which brings me back to the discussion of why someone would want to leave the conference. Besides the fact i think NCWC, and Maryville could potentially be in the mix in the next couple of years which would mean that the only team not to have won the championship would be greensboro. Not knocking them or nothin i was just making a point. Great play this year guys its been a good year.

Methodist @ SU- MU wins this one. Methodist does pretty good against the run, and SU cannot pass the ball. Brandon Lacey does scare me though. He has ran pretty well against us in the past, except last year. The monarchs do fine and come away with a win.

Ferrum @ CNU- CNU wins this one at home in a big way. Ferrum gets demolished. CNU are Co-Champs again.

Maryville @ Averett- AU knows what is at stake with this game. I think it will be close but AU wins it by 10. Maryville will not be a pushover though so be careful Averett. Hughley and parsons will not let you guys loose.

GC @ NCWC- The surprise team in the conference. Wesleyan is young and has leadership on their team. The QB is awesome and Terron Bush is just blowin it up this year. Wesleyan will be the team to beat next year i think.

I agree with everyone, i think CNU wins the bid to the playoffs, however there could be an at large bid for averett because of the strength of their schedule. Averett just couldnt convert in the redzone on saturday and has anyone mentioned that hughley could be the best reciever in the conference.

As for the monarchs game with the pride, terrible execution. The defense played well, lowe is a good football player. When a team has 5 turnovers, you really dont win the ballgame anyways. But GC had their fare share, and so did methodist. I hope they can go up to shentel and come away with a win. Just a little insight for Monarch fans however. If anyone remembers roncketti's freshman year, he threw for 18 int's. Look what happened with him later on, he was PLAYER OF THE YEAR. Parks looks pretty good and can move pretty well outside the pocket. Remember people he is a freshman. H e did throw into double coverage, he did try to make plays and force the ball, but hell, thats what a QB does. He will get better and be a hell of a player for the monarchs in the future.

SU @ Maryville- I will take MV in this one simply because of the way this team plays. They play with intensity and a no quit attitude. Colby townsend in my opinion is the best DE in the conference. He has like 10 sacks on the saeson, and can tackle in the open field. MV held Mike hill to only 50 yards rushing on saturday. I take MVC  42-24.

AU @ CNU- The matchup everyone has been waiting for. It is going to be a shootout. This game also features alot of talent on the field for both teams. I think AU will put up a great fight against CNU with the best one-two punch in the conference right now with Kyle wilson and Hughley. However, I think CNU wins this matchup 49-42

NCWC @ Ferrum- NCWC has been finding ways to win all year long and have pulled together as a team to do it. They have three backs with over 350 yards rushing, and their defense is pretty darn good too. I think NCWC wins on saturday 35-27.

GC @ MC- GC has sort of fallen apart in the last  few weeks. They are down right now and i think Methodist will get out early and GC will lay down. MC is playing the best defense i have seen in a while. GC will not run the ball on them, i think they will try to throw the ball to lowe and hope he catches it. But MC will be ready. Offensively for the monarchs, Parks looks like he got into a rhythm on saturday, and the monarchs have ran the ball well against GC the last few years. In two years Mike Hill has ran for 154 yards and one touchdown. I think he runs for more than that on saturday. MC wins 35-14

man, it sounds like the parks kid for methodist had a pretty good day in the air. The line pass blocked well for him to give him some time to throw the ball. Good job overall for the monarchs, just ended in a different way.

Rocket- I will be down on saturday to watch the monarchs. Delapp, me, hyslop, and a few others will be there. I may be bringing down a couple of kids for recruiting. But maybe ill see ya there.

kickerdad, great post. CNU will be in very big trouble if they look past ncwc. Wesleyan has a good defense, but so does cnu. It will not be a high scoring game i dont think. They both like to run the ball.

I think CNU felt like this year they had alot to prove after not winning the conference last year. When we beat them last year though, that team showed alot of class and sportsmanship. CNU is a classy program up there and i think kelchner is a good coach who has team control. I still cannot wait until the matchup with AU and CNU that is going to be  a showdown and if they both win the next week, then it will be to finally see who is the real conference champs. Never have there been one winnner outright for the conference and i truly feel this year, there very well might be just that.

Narch- we had our coaches meeting a week ago and the new talk in North Carolina is that we are trying to adapt the new 5a class system. This is going to happen to get the charlottle schools out of 4a and have them play themselves in their own conference. My school is now 3a with 1380 kids right now, and in two years the talk of the town was we are moving to 4a. Now with this new 5a system they are trying, it would put us staying in 3a which is where we belong.

Pridesports- Yes we do have two champions now. 3a has a champ and 3aa has a champ. Last year a team from our conference, asheville, won the 3aa championship. I think the system ought to make the 3a and the 3aa play each other for one cham, but thats just me.

Monarchs took a tough loss, i thought they had a greta chance and defense played extremely well. I know i picked them to win in the points spread, but thats the only reason was to cover the points, i knew that if they won, it would only be by a few points, not 21 like the spread called for. So i was clearing up any confusion about why i picked methco to loose, and thats it was because of the spread. I think they will do fine against maryville, but i know maryville will be ready to play to avenge the comeback we had on them to win last year. Both teams will be hungry for a win.

This saturday's matchup between CNU and MC is going to be a big one. MC has to defend the pass against a quarterback who is ripe for the picking. He is not very accurate 66-131 attempts is not that good. I was mistaken when i chose CNU to win this game, i think MC can pull this one out. Thats what i get for letting my mouth overload my butt i guess...lol. I should have looked at the stats before i made my prediction. The QB has 8 interceptions, and only 5 passing. Rushing they are pretty good at, but so was ferrum. Noone can run the ball the way ferrum does, and MC shut them down. for a team that averages 370 a game, MC only allowed 144 all game last saturday. Do i think CNU has enough strength to run on them, no. Their offensive line does not look as good as it has in the past. they have given up 17 sacks this year, and you know what that means. If CNU tries to count for the d-line of methodist which is pretty damn good in my opinion with northern, merrit, and hayden. then the linebackers will have a huge day. Especially daryl lawrence and phillip burlingame. This defense is great and will hole cnu this saturday.

The monarchs offense will need to turn it up a notch. The o-line has looked damn good blocking for mike hill, matthews, and parks. Its time to turn it up. It will be a big load for the freshman QB to handle with 5,000 fans screaming and making noise, but he looks pretty composed and will do fine i think. last time we went to pomoco we lost a big one 49-0. But what will stick in my mind forever is the fact that when they were up 49-0, they decide to run a punt fake on us just to rub it in. CNU that was a mistake, and im sure it is still in those sr's minds right now. They are hungry and ready for contact and ready to take down the top team in the conference.

Lets go boys. Get it done.

CNU vs MC- CNU will win this one.......if they throw the ball. They will not gain alot of yards on the ground. I do not think however they will win by the spread, but they will win.

AU vs GC- I see AU winning this one by 17 points. They have played tough the past few weeks, and this week i think Kyle wilson will be the factor here. With Parsons, Hughley, and wilson it will be a win for the cougars. GC has never been one to stop the running game, and that showed saturday with brandon lacey and paul diggs. Both of whom had 2 touchdowns a piece in the win saturday.

SU vs NCWC- SU will cover this spread of 13. I think they have some momentum built up now and as mentioned in the above paragraph, the two running backs that SU has look very dangerous. They chose to have a breakout game saturday i guess, now just hope for their sake they turn it on again saturday at home.

MY PIcks for the week:

Greencsboro 35 vs Shennandoah 14 - I like Greensboro in this one. SU has only scored 29 pts. all year. The interesting thing to me is that SU has not scored a point in the first half this year. That is pretty unbelievable. I think it will be closer than the spread says, but im goin with GC.

CNU 31 vs. Maryville 7-  I am going with CNU. They have a good team, not a great one, but a good team this year. The defense is outstanding, it is the offense that is letting them down. Maryville is not bad, but their offense is not going to dominate the defense of CNU.

AVERETT 28 vs. NCWC 17- Averett has a good team this year and they are playing well together as a unit. The offense is playing well and the defense is playing terrific as well. I think NOV. 4 for the cougars and the captains is going to be huge, and i think we may actually finally have one winner for the USASAC championship.

MC 21 vs. Ferrum 17- This game will be good. MC's rushign defense is outstanding this year. They held Kyle Wilson to 68 yrds. and this kid was an all-conference pick last year. Everyone knows that Ferrum can not throw the ball. If you force them to throw they will loose. Look at what happened last year in the playoffs. Wesley made them play from behind and force them to throw and pitts played the worst game of his career. MC gets its first conference win sat.

This question is for everyone, what in the world is going on with SU's offense this year. i mean come on 29 points the whole year and not scored yet in the first half of any ballgames. I mean i know MC'S offense is not doing terrific, i mean hell we have trouble finding the endzone through the air, but i mean we have a running game. Is anyone hurt up there, or are they young or whats going on. I am not hating on them at all, dont think for once that i am, but i mean i would like to know what in the world has happened to them. 3 years ago, they could score like no other, now they have basically no offense.

Rocket- hey man, listen i was thinking about what could help us in improving the stadium and fan support from the student body. I think everything you said is great, but one thing i think we left out is this. They need to putn lights up and lets play games under the lights at nighttime. Football play at night and then soccer, i mean switch it up. This way everyone could come and watch and support the college. Remember back 2 years ago when we played CNU for homecoming and they flew the ball in and had a pretty good time going on, everyone was there and showed support, thats what we need i think it will greatly help.

Narch- why have they been so against putting lights up on the field? we have talked about it since i was a freshman, and now i have graduated and still wondering. Do you know anything behind the answers of NO?

rocket good to hear from you brother. How is your team doing this year in high school? Mine is not doing too well. they have just given up. we are 1-6.
