"hscoach,
I could not have said it better myself.  I would like to see Bill Curry do some of the big games myself.  He is someone with football knowledge and seems to stay pretty impartial regardless of the teams he is covering."

I have to agree with you. He has done a great job with the games I have seen and I though the Mount vs Whitewater game was the best yet. He had done his homework because he was very knowledgable about both teams.

"Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett was accused of robbing two people at gunpoint in an alley behind a bar early Sunday

Apparently his fifteen minutes of fame is just about up"

His fifteen minutes will continue in Columbus because I am sure thats all we will see on tv here is his trial. Wonder if he'll be on Court TV? ;D

A cell phone..... all that for a stinking cell phone. Could go to the big house for 25 years. If he would have asked without the gun the I'm sure the guy would have given it to him.

"Wait till he finds out that he is free to buy his own ticket and come to visit campus at his own expense to talk to the coaches. OAC/D3 recruiting is a far cry from what he'll see from D1 schools. BTW Do we know who gave him the hat?  :)

Happy New Years to everyone "
He will be  :o when he finds that out. You gotta love DIII. They make you independent. "Pay for it yourself!"  ;D

"Jamere Holland of Taft High Woodland Hills California, reportedly the fastest high school  runner in the USA,  added Mount Union to his short list of colleges he may attend in 2006.A local L.A. newspaper story  reported Holland being most impressed after watching Mount Union win their 8th Stagg Bowl in 13 years and quiped "who are those Guys"

I think he should choose USC ;D. Cap and the OAC schools have enough trouble keeping up with Garcon and Kmic.  besides if he don't know who you are you don't want him ;).

"Since you're here lets talk numbers.  Why are you're special teams numbers very unimpressive?  Please tell us what is so impressive about Jacobs.  After all his numbers are not.  You would have to go back a long way to find numbers like that for a starting QB at Mount Union?  How can he win conference offensive player of the year?  To me your RB should have won it, Jacobs can't be the offensive MVP of your team can he?  50% completion percentage in the playoffs is bad.  I don't think Whitewater can win without forcing a bunch of turnovers.  Just my opinion we shall see.  I know they're a great team and deserve to be there but so does Mount.  And I think Mount's last two playoff games were against better defenses than they will see Saturday.  Not saying Whitewaters isn't good, it is very good, I just will be surprised if they are as good as the last two I've see that's all.

8.   Most telling stat comparison?  Completion Percentage.  Jorris 71.4% (new Stagg record beating Smeck's 70.4%) versus Jacobs 46.8%.

I thought I remembered an eariler post that talked about Jacobs completion % in the playoffs. I guess we should have seen that comming. I knew it was goig to take a lot more than 50% completions to beat Mount.

"Congrats to The Ric.  Either he's about to hit the lottery, or get hit by a bus.

Now if his Golden Domers beat my Buckeyes, I'm going to short circuit his hot tub!"

Don't worry Ric since the Domers aren't going to win anyway ;D you should be fine. But watch out for that BUS!!

Go Bucks!!

"I've added eight audio highlights from Mount Union's Stagg Bowl victory.  If they interest you, they are at http://www.mtunionfootball.com."
Thanks Ric. What a great website. The articles and content outstanding  :). Even though I am a Cap fan I have enjoyed the site ;D. Congrats to all of the Mount Union faithful.

Saw an article (I think it was an AP) that said that LK was drawing up plays on the sideline. I guess he did a pretty good job of that. I think the run by Kmic worked to perfection  :o.

Heres what he said: 2nd and eight Hmmmmmmmmm let me see now  Jorris, I think you should hand the ball to Nate, Nate you take the ball and run like HELL.

"Congrats Mount Union

If you take out the 3rd quarter this was a really close game on both sides...

I know we would love to have taken out a couple of third quarters by Mount over the years too.  That's why they have 8 national titles.  LK and his staff have historically outcoached almost everyone they have played and if there is one thing I fear, it is the Purple Raider second half adjustments."

Hey if we are taking out quarters lets take out the 4th quarter in both our games and maybe would have been playing in the Stagg ;D. Great season for the Purple Raiders. AGAIN!!

rc

You can look at Northern not being in the playoffs as a good thing because Wes would proably not been able to showcase his talent to the world.  ;D. Would have been nice to have three OAC teams in the playoffs and a chance to have two playing in Salem.

"For those that care (and I do not wish to take anything away from the day for Mount Union):

Hostetler's Record Day

Pretty cool seeing him get carried off the field by his teammates..."
Thanks rc.
Congrats to Wes on his outstanding day. Also I don't think the NCAA could stand for three OAC schools to be in the playoffs ;D. It would have really proved the point that the OAC is the toughest confrence.
