Just wanted to inform the board that Mr. Dave Lawrenz from Wheaton College, a long-time friend and fan of a lot of people, is in the hospital. Not too sure of the details but please keep him and his family close in your thoughts and prayers.

I understand, everyone is entitled to their opinion. He just catches a lot of heat on the board and I just wanted to show my support as people where saying there was a lack of Augie posters.

I am usually an observer as well but will be taking the trip with some of the guys that I played with at Augie under Coach G. Good luck this weekend!
And to all the Coach G haters.......everyone always hates the guy on top!

I am not to sure who is on the IWU JV team, BUT you guys better bring your lunch! Those guys might score 150 against a JV team. Good luck.
Good luck to Augie tonight!

I agree with dansand on the Anderson play from behind. Being at the game and having a good angle of the foul it seemed apparent that Anderson played the ball. Personally, I thought DeMoss launched early towards the rim to dunk it and was knocked off balance as Anderson fouled him. Then when DeMoss tried to flush it he let go of the rim at an awkward time which resulted in his unusual fall to the ground. If you have seen Augie play a bunch this year you would know that Anderson has a tremendous vertical and probably figured he could make a play from behind. It just so happened that the foul was from behind and when someone falls like that it is natural for people to get upset, but I don't think it was reckless. However, after the DeMoss was on the ground it seemed as though the Wheaton bench wanted to comment to the Augie bench that it was a deliberate foul and something that is taught by the staff. For the most part Augie coaches didn't comment back but it seemed as though there might have been another exchange following the game that was more colorful....and amusing!

Just to put a little closure to Mr. Norton's college decision. He did what I would think is what more young men should do. He simply gathered facts, took visits and made a decision that was best for him. In all college recruiting situations there is a win/lose. You cannot blame a kid for making a decision one way or another.

Dansand,
How did Norton look in tonight's scrimmage? I am assuming like a CCIW frosh?!?

Q,
Does anyone give ranks as to who brought in the best recruiting class in the CCIW?
Also, Augie is in the midst of revamping the Carver Center. Currently, they have hung a scoreboard from the ceiling right above center court. They are also putting in all new bleachers that is supposed to give CC a little more magic with moving them closer to the floor. The seats behind both benches will have backs on them and should bring a new look to the CC. I hope it is a really nice venue to watch a CCIW game at next year.....maybe another Conf Tourney...and possibly a couple more NCAA games!!!!

You can add Brian DeSimone to the Augie roster. The PG from Buffalo Grove gave Augie his word over the weekend.

Dave Pilalis has narrowed his choices to Lake Forest and St. Norbert. I think he will choose Lake Forest by the end of the week.
*Also, speaking with Tom Fitzpatrick this past weekend, it appears that he is not in fact going to Illinois but considering Loyola, U of Chicago and IWU ( Q...do you know if they are still talking with him at all?!?!)

IBC = Illinois Benedicting U. (i figure you know it but just saying for the people who do not)
Just got word that Northern State had an in home visit with Tom Fitzpatrick and his family and that Tom is going to turn down the scholarship offer to attend the University of Illinois as a walk-on, not even a prefered walk-on. Does this make sense to everyone else since his wasn't even an all area player with Wheaton North? I am having a hard time grasping this decision from him and his family. In my eyes if he went to a CCIW school he would probably be sitting until his soph or junior year because he is so skinny at 6'7.
