Less than 1 High school girl per team goes on to play NCAA I, II, or III basketball......that is less than 1 percent of all high school players......
Only 48 teams out of over 1200 plus at the NCAA I, II, or III level get to experience the "NCAA Sweet 16" ....you are in an elite group
You have experienced something that you will pass forward.....and I don't just mean the game......it is the experience and all of the emotion that goes with it.....this is "Chapter 2"...last year was "Chapter 1".........
TOMORROW IS THE OPENING PARAGRAPH OF "CHAPTER 3".....

Let's go the tape.......59 seconds left in overtime....Marymount up by 2and "Jones hit a 22 footer".... timeout Marymount.......Mary Washington is in trouble.......down by 5 under a minute......and couldn't pull it off on their own court......REALITY CHECK HOOKIE POOKIE!!!!!

Marymount has been carrying the torch for the CAC 5 out the last 6 years (NCAA Appearances)....you nailed the reason in your last post "Teamwork"!!!

Marymount got to the Final 4 in 2002 with a First Team All-American...but....there were 4 starters that averaged in double figures......a totally team oriented game.....that group graduated in 2004.......enter Mary Washington in 2005.....it is up to "Yuz guys" to carry it further......you have the nucleas for 4 years to dominate......
Randi Jones is a senior with a couple of other players that have been there in tough NCAA times.......look at the 4 NCAA appearances:
Sweet 16: losing in double overtime
Sweet 16: losing by 1
Elite 8: losing by 4 to the previous year NCAA Final 4 rep.
Final 4: beating a Middle-Atlantic team by 3 who purchased their airfare the night before because a CAC team never goes to the Final 4....and now, with a player who can carry a team (Randi) when her teammates have never been in these charted waters.......IS Team Oriented.....players learn by example......right Mom and Dad!!!!!

Mary Washington did not know how to pull it out when it counted.......but now they DO!!!!
they are the team that will carry the torch for the next 2-3 years....if they decide too.....and not be a "Bodie Miller" if you get my drift....
It is not up to the underclassman to carry a team........Senior leadership may not even get in the game but can show strength in waning seconds of knowing that this is the  last time to "Dance"!!!!!!

THIS POST NOW........NEEDS TO GIVE THE PLAYERS THE CONFIDENCE TO GET TO THE NEXT ROUND.......NOT WHINE ABOUT INTER-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS.......LET US TAKE A LESSON FROM THE YOUNG LADIES OF THE COURT.......THEY ARE ALL A "CLASS ACT"

At the start of next season I want to tell prospects about a conference that leaves the Court proud to be a Champion......when everyone else in D3 took them as not!!!!!

You're just upset because the POY (Randi Jones) is the one that hit the shot to send Mary Washington in "Desperation" Mode......and I didn't see either Bruen or Hickey respond in overtime as a clutch POY would.........they will have their chance next year.
I'm sure CUA posters would disagree with you also....I thought Lindsey R. was clutch.

Jones gets to go out with a third NCAA tournament to her credit ( 1 Sweet 16, and 1 Elite 8)......although this year, the chances of getting out of the first round will take another high powered effort (as against MW) to move on.......

HERE IS MY PREDICTION BEFORE THE BRACKETS ARE FORMED:

1- Mary Washington, being the number 1 seed in the Atlantic WILL host the Sectionals ( Sweet 16)
2- Pity the team Mary Washington will play in the first round ( it won't be pretty )
3- Marymount will win their first round game and draw a very difficult second round game
4- Mary Washington will be in the "Elite Eight" ( I am not going on the line for anything farther yet )
5- Marymount will play Southern Maine in the Sweet 16.....

OF COURSE THIS IS ALL OUT THE WINDOW IF THE NCAA COMMITTEE PUTS THE 2 CAC TEAMS IN THE SAME BRACKET WHERE THEY MEET IN THE SECOND ROUND

AS FOR CATHOLIC: You are on the right track, the Catholic-Marymount rivalry over the past 6 years was always exciting.......best of luck in your new conference....maybe we ( a CAC team ) will meet again in a future NCAA Tournament.
