CLU 2013...record was 4-5. NO DISRECT MEANT. I hope CLU comes back strong in 2014. It will make for some interesting games.

oops---ok more reasons for kingsmen 4 to be very  silent when his kingsmen went 4-5  in 2013.That record  will not repeat in 2014 so perhaps kingmen 4 will indeed be back on post patterns.
Check out Venturacountystar, com as what is going on for California Lutheran Kingsmen Football

Just thinking- How fun and beneficial would it be if Mt and UWW scheduled a JV game against each other every season?

A Good idea emma but too costly and that is why UMU only schedules J V games in the Ohio area and play some teams twice. The varsity has been scrimmaging and defeating on a regular basis  Washington and Jefferson College [PA} for over 20 years.W.&J. in Washington PA. is like only  80 from Alliance Ohio.

Against the Regals or "i lost my password, when we have a terrible season, aka DOC"?...Lacing it up is an old timers reference, btw not smack.

It is all good
Huh?-DOC is a Linfield fan and I wouldn't say last season was "terrible" for us.  It was Kingsmen4 who lost his password.

YES- MONROV CAT- Kingsmen 4 was indeed very Quiet on the 2013 POSTING  board when his California Lutheran Kingsmen went ONLY 5-4 !

Is it safe to assume that our offensive coordinators new name is now Geoff Kehres, since he married a kehres? ;D
Might not be a bad idea! ;) You can't have too many of them :o

So with V.K. AND L.K. And now Geoff /OC married to L.K.,S daughter  THE Purple Raiders now  have The " KEHRES SHOW". Sounds good to me !
Look out division 3 football as the Alliance Ohio  University Of Mount Union continue to to be TOP OF THE HEAP !
The "KEHRES SHOW " Nice Sounding"  Begins soon !

My take on the SCIAC...

1) UR, slight edge. UR could be better than last year and will need to be better than last season. I expect CU, the Regals, and Oxy to be better.

The key to UR will be up front. UR will only be as good as their O line. The O line had three good players at center and tackles but the guards were tough to watch at times. UR will be a running team and must control the game. They cannot depend on their defense to keep them in the game. UR defense had to contend with multiple back to back three and out by the offense. They won't have that luxury next year. The O line returns four starters plus a couple back ups that started due to injuries. This summer is huge for them. How hard did they work, I don't know. Some needed to bulk up, some slim down. I hope they got better over the spring and summer. If they go from sub par to just good, UR will be tough. UR will live by the return of their two starting RB and a seasoned QB. Expect Russell to be a poor man's Tim Tebow, expect a ton of read and option plays every down. UR will be a run first team. Our two top WR are gone but there are capable players coming back and with our scheme they just need to be serviceable. On defense the linebackers will be our strength. UR returns two starters, plus all conference in 2012 Griffin Lord who redshirted last season due to injury. They actually have four backers with multiple starts. Expect to see them all over the field and on the move, a lot of blitzing. Our DB's return three seasoned players, a redshirt with starts too. If we can get strong free safety play they will be solid, I like our corners. Our D line is as green as I can remember. Our D Ends were back ups last year, and our NT is the most experienced player, moving from a DT in 40 front to full time NG. Depth is thin on this line, we cannot
have any injuries. The group is just as gifted as the last group just lacks experience. We need one player to break out.

If UR can stay healthy, they are my favorite (all so slight)...We are thin at back ups so cross your fingers, Bulldog fans.

2) This is a tie ....CU and CLU...
CU, has some real nice skills back but they lost several linemen on both sides of the ball. CU downfall is their linemen. They are so thin, forced to move backers to D line etc...they have the skills to play with anyone. They are very dangerous on offense. I expect them to be the stat leaders again.
The Regals are coming off their worse season since 2000. The Regals also lost many huge O lineman. I really think loosing their O line coach last season hurt them. They were less polished than in the past. They also lost a couple DT so they will need kids to step up too. The QB issue will be interesting. Rico will start, but he not a big kid, so lets see if he can make it through the season. They lack depth unless Mac pull the transfer Rabbit out of the hat.
Tranfers seem to find their way to the Regals so one never knows if an impact players in the works. I know they worked the JC circuit very hard this off season, so it tells me Mac was looking for help at O line, safeties, and WR.
4) Oxy, they may have the best QB, RB and WR in the conference but they suffer in a similar manner as CU, lack of solid players up front. Their defense was just pretty soft up front. They must improve up front to have a real chance. I like what I see from the ex Regal coach.  They scare me, no gimme for the Dogs.
5) This is tough, but I will go with ULV. Some skills back, they have large numbers out for football.
6) CMS, very young last season, couple nice players up front....
7) Whittier could be another Cal Lu if the admin ever got behind the program, despite alumni pressure the board does not see the need to respond. They unravel as the season goes on, loosing Jellerson set them back years.
8) PP, nice school...basketball team working the snack bar is fun to watch when they start teasing each other.

I am 50/50 the champ will have one loss.

Old Dog
Coach Ben McEnroe is good at pulling transfer rabbits out of a hat. !

Welcome back, K4.

LOTS of fine looking chicks in tank tops !
At first I was going to lie and say I didn't watch it. BUT ... after further review I have to say, the most impressive thing I have seen in any of your video productions over the years was captured in this video ... I don't know if it was CGI or some new special effects you added, but I actually saw chicks in the Linfield stands. I was under the impression you guys only let middle aged men in overalls sporting summer teeth into your games.

;D ;DHey Paocha-I thought Jamere Holland was going to Mount Union to play for the greatest football team ever.Jamho will do fine at UCS- but he and Pierre "speedo"Garcon and Nate "The skate" Kmic would have been an awesome trio for the mighty Mount.

joelmamma,
Here,s the scoop on Troy Starr 1985 Mount Union All American Linebacker.Starr just finished his 13th season at William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills Ca.  His record at Taft is 136 wins and 30 losses and Taft plays in the L.A.City League. Many of his players have played or are currently playing d-1 football .Some 9 former Taft players started for d-1 teams in 2005.Rick Clausen at Tennessee,Lee Marks at Boise State, and Steve Smith WR  # 2 Jr. for USC is a 2 year starter for the Trojans and many call him the next Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers.Smith catches just about every ball thrown to him.Two of his  former Taft guys are currently playing in the NFL-Seattle and Houston.Starr took a sabatical from Taft in 2003 and coached QB,S and WR,S at d-3 California Lutheran University,Thousand Oaks Ca. for one year and enjoyed it very much but went back to Taft in 2004 when the guy that replaced him at Taft was fired after one season for an  unknown reason. He has no plans of retiring from coaching football and perhaps may seek a head coaching job in d-3 football in the near future. Not many d-3 colleges in California [like only 10] so he may have to go out of state if he wants to get a d-3 head coaching job.
