Speaking of games, now SDGusties & Sum - Is Sum going to do the Pickems & SDG you're doing the YNOT?

I just sent Sum the spreadsheet for both, but I believe he's only going to do 1.  With family, work, and everything else, I don't think I'll be able to carry the YNOT torch for year 2.

Drake, I can probably handle the Pick-em side of things. I was not involved in the Y-not contest last years so I will pass on those duties.

I still have the spreadsheets for both the Pick 'em and YNOT.  Everything is linked in Excel, so it makes it pretty easy.  The most time consuming part is putting the results on the board.

35-12 Oles at the half.  No more updates from me.  The wife wants to go out.
#4
28-12 Oles 4 left in the 2nd.
#5
21-12 Oles 6 minutes left in the 2nd.  Oles have stopped GAC inside the 10 twice in this game already.
#6
21-9 Oles.  12:10 left in the 2nd.
#7
Oles up 14-9.  5:00 to go in the 1st.

0-0, one quarter down from the South Side of Northfield.  Any news from the North Side?

GAC up 9-7 with Oles driving still in the 1st.

I would love to see a Hockey page but on the national scene I suppose it is not as big.

I am borrowing this idea from the MN Twins message board at scout.com (which originated on, I believe, the Montreal Expos message board back when they were around).  It is called YNOT, and it is another game that we can play along with the Pick 'em.  I will keep track of the standings (like the pick 'em).  It is pretty simple, but it will require full participation throughout the season.  If you don't think you can commit, please don't sign up.

Here are the basic rules (I will repost them in the Pick'em board when we get that reopened)....
We will have 11 teams/owners in this league.  Each owner will answer 10 questions in regards to that nights MIAC league games.  5 of the questions will be to pick the winner of the nights games.  The other 5 questions will be to pick the higher scorer for the night in each game between the highest average scorer for each team (this sounds confusing, but it's actually pretty simple...for example, using last years stats, if GAC played UST last year, you would have to choose who would score more...Adam TeBrake, Isaac Rosefelt, or tie).  I will post each nights matchup, so there won't be any confusion.  Scoring will be simple, if you choose the winner of a game, you get two points.  If you choose the higher scorer, you get three points.  If you are forced to pick ahead of schedule (due to vacation or out of town), you can pick the top scorer for the night by choosing the team he plays on (if it hasn't been determined who will be going against each other in head to head scoring).  For the tiebreaker, you will also be asked to predict the average attendance for the night.

We will be using head-to-head matchups.  If you score more than the team you are playing, you win for the night.  Like in the MIAC, each team will play every other team 2 times with 2 byes throughout the season.  At the end of the season, like the MIAC, the top 6 teams make the playoffs with the top 2 getting byes.  Ties in the standings are broken first by average points scored (not including byes), then by head-to-head record, then by a coin flip.  In the first two rounds, the questions will be - pick the winner of each game (2 pts each), and then who will be the high scorer at each starting position (3 pts each) for a total of 12 questions with the tiebreaker being to predict the average attendance.  For the finals, the questions will be pick the winner of the game (4 pts), determine the high scorer at each starting position (3 pts), choose the over/under for the game (2 pts), pick the high scorer for the game (4 pts - 2 pts if your player outscores your oppenents player, but isn't the high scorer), the high rebounder (4 pts - 2 pts if your player outrebounds your oppenents player, but isn't the high rebounder), and the high assist man (4 pts - 2 pts if your player outassists your oppenents player, but isn't the high assist).  The tiebreaker will be to determine the attendence for the night.

If you are interested in playing, please post here.  Like I said before, this is a whole season commitment.  If you can't make a night, you can pick ahead.  I will post the schedule when I have 10 more players (I'm taking one of the spots :)).  Our picks will be made on the pick 'em board, so not to clutter up this board.  This will not be replacing the pick 'em.  It is just another game to play to pass the time, and to hopefully increase our knowledge of MIAC hoops.  I should add that we are just playing for FUN, so don't get too mad if I screw something up.

Just a reminder, we still have 1 opening for the YNOT.  Please post here if you are interested.  Here is who I have so far...

1 spot remaining in the YNOT contest.  Once we get the last person, I'll move all YNOT and Pick'Em info to the Pick 'Em page.

I will be the last guy in the YNOT contest...Never a poster on the board, but a big d3 basketball fan...with some insight on the league.

You're in bleednavyblue_GoBU.  This is my last post regarding the YNOT on this board.  Picks and schedules will be listed on the pick 'em board.  I encourage all YNOT and Pick 'Em talk to go to the pick 'em board, so we don't take away from actual basketball talk.  Thanks everyone for signing up.  Remember, if you just want to play the pick 'em, that is open to everyone (not just the 11 in the YNOT).

If cmob's participation causes odd numbers, I'll even things out...or do I make things more odd? Let me know, SDGusties.

You're in Willy.  Oddly enough (pun sort of intended), I need 11 people to make this work for scheduling purposes.  One more person is needed and then I will post the schedule on the pick 'em board.

MIAC Pick Em

The board is locked, so you'll have to have Pat unlock it.  Basically, you can't post anything right now.  I had to have him unlock the WIAC Pick Em board.

Shameless Self-Promotion
The season starts in a week, don't forget to join the Survivor League and new the Nationwide Pick Em League in the multi-regional board!!!  ;D

My bad OS & SDG, I never noticed the "reply" button wasn't currently available on the Pickem board.  SDG - since this weekend is the end of the regular football season, Pat might be pretty busy.  So to get his attention, you might have to send him a PM.

I sent a PM to Pat last night.  I'm not expecting any action anytime soon with it still being FB season.  As for the new game, it's actually really simple.  I probably made it sound more confusing than it really is (I have a tendancy to do that).  9 spots still left.

I unlocked it last night if anyone checked.

I did notice that.  Thanks again Pat.

That's cool.

I have nothing new to report or say, but  I wonder what the MIAC board record is for the number of consecutive quotes used in a post.  This particular string of "quotes" is now at 5.   ;D

I think it's fair to say we need to get the season started & soon!  ;)

I am in for this new game. I'm on a pick'em high after winning the football regular season.

Just to make Drake's day I'll continue the quote line. SDG- Just checking, Are we still doung the regular pickem too?

Yep.  We are still doing the regular pick'em as well.  There are 6 spots remaining in the YNOT.
