Was the Brox HS of Science in a competetive league?  I don't know exactly, but it sounds like it might have been 27 pts a game in a very weak league.  This is all judging by the name of his school, so I could be wrong.

The Bronx High School of Science (known as Bronx Science to us nyc folk) plays in the PSAL, one of the top high school leagues in the country, with teams like the current #21 ranked team in the country, Wings Academy. They play in the Bronx West A division with JFK high school (the PSAL champions for 2004-5) and DeWitt Clinton HS, another major NYC basketball power. In addition, i'm pretty sure they play out-of-league games with teams in the CHSAA (Catholic school league), which is the other strong league in NYC. So their league is pretty strong, i'd have to say.

Ok
I will give Bates and Bowdoin their due but Bates got lucky with the home seed because technically Bowdoin and Bates were tide in the win/loss column but I guess that is why we have the tie breaker.

Wait, Bates got "LUCKY" with the home seed? I don't think going 8-1 AND beating Bowdoin, the other 8-1 team in the league, makes them "lucky" to have the home seed. As far as I can tell, Bates EARNED that home seed.

Amherst is a lock and I think Tufts has got a pretty good shot too.  Trinity will be the bubble team and Bates will probably have to win the tournament.  They got jinxed by the front page story on d3hoops.com.

It seems as if the sports illustrated jinx has made it to d3hoops.com..... that's just not cool.

That would only work if UMPI agreed to play zone the whole time.  I think even Presque-Isle could contend with two of the three players double-teamed at all times.

...then again, maybe not.

Hahaha. lets hope that the men's game doesn't turn out like the women's game against them last year, where the Bates women's team beat UMPI 109-18. Or i guess that could be pretty entertaining to watch... Go Bates!
