I think it will be an extremely exciting weekend at LeFrak. Utica will lose to St. John Fisher for the fourth time because they are just not as talented. However, I think Tufts can pull off the upset over Amherst on Friday. what you guys think?

The whole Tufts team played well. I dont think decent would be a word used in this instance. Amherst did not have an answer for Dan Martin inside. If you were at the game then that would have been very obvious.

In the first game against Amherst, a night after playing an overtime thriller against Trinity, Tufts was ice cold for the majority of the game and Amherst was able to compile alot of fastbreak points in winning a lopsided affair 99-76. In the second game, Tufts came out with a lot of fire after another thrilling overtime win against Trinity the night before. Weitzen, Black, and O'keefe were draining jumpshots from all over the court and Dan Martin was a force inside for much of the game. Amherst had no answer for him. They led by as many as 11 but Amherst was able to force some turnovers and came back to tie it at halftime.
Second half of game two was pretty even with Tufts Ryan O'keefe hitting a layup with 2 seconds left to force overtime. In overtime, Amherst was able to score some quick baskets and win by 8. Now both teams have some time to prepare for each other and lets see which team this will favor. They say it is extremely difficult to beat a team three times in a season and I'm sure the Jumbos will come out firing again on Friday. Cant wait. Its gonna be a battle.

Any thoughts on how York (N.Y.) matches up against York (P.A.) Is it possible for them to upset the York of Pennsylvania or will this one be a blow out?

Any thoughts on the matchup between Tufts and Endicott. How does Endicott matchup against a bigger Tufts team. Close game-blow out- what are the predictions?

Does anyone know if Tufts, Trinity and Bates have all earned a Pool C berth in the NCAA tournament if they don't happen to win the conference tournament?

He is miserable but he is second on the Tufts team in scoring as a sophomore. Did I mention he averaged 27 pts a game in New York City as a senior in high school. ajsnc13- question for u? can u beat him? I didn't think so.

Coast Guard isnt gettin a look for the simple fact that u just stated. they lost to babson twice. Babson is not a good team. they play hard and have a strong defensive presence but for god's sakes they can't score. they are not good at all. And like i been tellin all u guys, WPI is very overrated and would not be surprised if they did not win their conference tournament. So CGA beating them and losing twice to Babson makes them like the rest of the teams in the NEWMAC-AVERAGE!!!!

I think there are some intriguing matchups here in the first round with the higher seeds in for some tough games. While Amherst will demolish Conn College, I think Trinity has their hands full with a revitalized Colby team that is looking to pull a first round upset. Tufts has a tough task against Williams on Saturday with Williams earning a two point win in the first contest this season. Look for Tufts to get revenge this weekend. The 4 vs 5 matchup of Bates and Bowdoin is just what it is. a tossup. Although Bates has not lost at home this season, Bowdoin should be ready for the challenge and look for them to squeak one out in a nailbiter. Only the weekend will tell. Its gettin interesting folks as the regional rankings come out tomorrow.

If Tufts ends up beating Williams at their place on Saturday they could almost be sure of an NCAA bid due to at least a semifinal appearance in the NESCAC tournament and their high QOWI%. Bates, Williams, and Trinity will have to win the conference tournament at Amherst in order to receive a bid and in that case, Amherst of course, will be the only other NESCAC to get the at large bid.
My predictions:
NESCAC Gets three bids this year which will be determined over the course of the next two weeks.
Amherst by 20 over Conn College
Trinity over Colby by 5
Tufts over Williams by 9
Bowdoin over Bates by 1
Amherst over Bowdoin by 15
Tufts over Trinity by 6
Which leaves a showdown between the number 1 and number 2 teams in the Northeast,{Amherst and Tufts}due to the fact that WPI is highly overrated and all those close wins are catching up to them. Tufts has to bring their A game or it could be a long night for the Jumbos up at Amherst.

by the way who do u guys think will win the CUNY conference this year. I like Baruch's athleticism and depth and the fact that they have only lost to one D3 team but i feel like they lack the talent to proceed far into the NCAA tournament if they indeed win the CUNY. And can i get some rankings as to the best conferences in the country as you guys might know them. Im really into basketball with all my family members being a part of some conference D2-D3.
