Any word on what prompted the coaching vacancy at UD?  Is Huffman off to greener pastures??

Me thinks it is official.  No one else besides WLCalum gives two @#$%s.  Well at least  not enough to post, myself included.  I must say though I do check the board daily for WLC's picks, projections, and score updates.  So keep up the good work!  Maybe the rest of us will catch on eventually.

Gargamel is quite the interesting name and completely without connotation, that was however until the creator of the smurfs unrightly villianized it in the mid 80's.  I think we can see why it has been dropped from the archives at edgewood.

So Saturday's game now brings an interesting twist-  Gargamel vs. the Skipper.

On one hand you have the stubborn and misunderstood smurf hater, on the other the innocent, yet misguided boat captain.

Should be a great game @ WLC on Saturday.  The 6th man, the dance team, the cheesy warm pretzels.  I'm sure Warrior Nation is excited and the 6th man will be in full effect, but they may see a different Edgewood team.  They are so focused right now.  Seth and Chuck want this bad and it shows in their play.  It will take a supreme effort to silence the 6th man, if that is even possible.  After Chuck hit his 4th consecutive 3ptr moose's maniacs prolly didn't have much to say until the 2nd half.

Can EC bring the herculean effort 2 games in a row and pull off the upset?
What will the 6th man do with the brooms after the game-- sweep the eagles out of the rex or bo jackson them in half and return the remains to the milwaukee area curling club?
And can I order a warm pretzel online?

CURF @ RC for the Championship.

I might be jumping in on your conversation late, but RC coach must be a pretty crumby coach to go 20-6, win the regular season, and guide their team to the conference tournament championship game.

They did stumble a bit at the end, but respect the "season at hand."

Is there more behind the scenes that would make someone be so critical of Coach A?

Interesting that you think Mayyou could be a Poy candidate but not a Roy candidate.  She is a freshman right?    Scheele has had a great season, but I still think you have to honor Mayyou for leading her team to the # 2 seed after being picked 5th in the preseason poll while averaging 16.8 ppg and 5.6 rpg in conf.  Though Scheele did ave 15.8 and 9.8 in conf.  I guess it is tough to ignore nearly averaging a double double.

In either case it will be great to watch the careers of these two over the next few years.  If EC can keep their team harmonious and add a couple recruits they'll be on top soon.  I'm sure CUW has something to look forward too if they can land a couple top prospects as well.  They've got a great young team who works so hard.  Hats off to both coaches for turning it up a notch the past two seasons.

Next year will be a very interesting year as this message board dies and gives way to the nac or what ever it finally becomes.  CUW, EC, WLC, and LC are all in the same boat next year.  LC probably has the most questions to answer with the departure of Thill.  But all four are teams who with 1-3 impact recruits can compete with the other teams joining the league regardless of what the overall record was between the LMC and what's left of the NIIC this year.

I would agree with an LC win, Thill could garner POY.  It would be tough to pass up the best player on the best team if LC would seal the deal.  Mayyou supporters would have an argument if CUW could pull off the win on Saturday, but I think some out there would still vote for a senior 1000 pt scorer over the frosh at the end of the day.
I think some folks in Milwaukee also may be rooting for the engineering candidate, Chappell who only averaged 21 and 7.5.  Not bad stats.  Though she doesn't get much help on the scoring end from her own team, teams still double team her, put their best defender on her, push her around, and she still catches, elevates and finishes everytime she touches the ball.

Can Brunner win the COY?  Is there another option besides Arvan and Brunner?

Great off night for WLC.  Anytime you can not suit up and still improve your position in the standings is a good time.   Will provide some excitement for their games at CUW and EC to finish the season.

What happened at CUW?  I think I saw MC have all 5 starters in double digits, 9-15 from 3, outrebounding CUW by 2 (35-33), and 12 steals.  MC is a scary team to play.  Beware everyone in the tourney.

Good luck again to everyone this weekend.

Warrior Fish, you were pretty close on the LC score, though it prolly didn't look like it would be that close when they threw up 37 at halftime.  Then you totally missed on the CUW score, but who would have guessed they would have such a let down after such a great game down at EC?

Let's see what happens between WLC and EC this weekend.  It will be a tough time to catch Edgewood after a 2 game skid at home, though I bet WLC had some eyes at tonight's game.

Great game at the Edgedome on Saturday!  Exciting to the last minute.  If they would have played another 5 minutes there is no telling who would have won that game.  This sets up an interesting game on Wednesday up at Lakeland, not to mention some other important games down the stretch for the teams on top.  Any predictions?

Feb. 8    Edgewood @ Lakeland*
Feb. 8    Marian @ Concordia (Wis.)*

Feb. 11    MSOE @ Lakeland*
Feb. 11    Wis. Lutheran @ Edgewood*

Feb. 13    Edgewood @ Marian*
Feb. 13    Lakeland @ Maranatha*
Feb. 13    Wis. Lutheran @ Concordia (Wis.)*

Good luck to everybody!

What's up y'all.  I'm new to the board and excited to get in on some LMC talk down the stretch.  Good luck to all the teams.  Looks like we've got an exciting end to the race.  HUGE game down at the Edgedome on Saturday afternoon.  Not to mention a heated match up @ MSOE.
