18 offensive boards for the Herst, if I read that right. Wow.

Any word from the Amherst camp on the Wheeler injury on the front page?

Paycheck came on Friday, "personal day" request was granted on Monday, so I get to drive down to Salem to see Amherst live for the first time this year.
I'm very excited to see the guys back at the Final Four. 3 straight years and 4 out of the last 5 is an amazing run...

Why the movement, Marty? Any changes leading up to the game?

Lefrak's capacity varies because you can add and subtract seats behind one of the baskets. I'm pretty sure "official" capacity is closer to 1600, but that would include some sort of bleachers set up behind that basket.

Rochester starts on an early run in the 2nd half, up 8 at the first time out.

Rochester 21, Midd 20 at the half. The Panthers are doing a great job shutting down Rochester's big men.

My bad, Pat - that makes their regional positioning even stranger, to me at least.

Looking at the bracket, I was concerned about the fact that Amherst, should they win their first game, would have to possibly travel to Plattsburgh for the regional. However, it looks like the NCAA anticipates the sweet sixteen returning to the valley. By rule, Amherst's men and women cannot both host the regional, and Amherst men would have precedence if both were to advance that far and both were to earn that right. Amherst's women's team has been placed in a bracket with midwestern and western teams, and would likely be the one team to have to fly to their regional should they make it that far. This would pave the way for the men's team to play their regional at home, provided of course they win their first game...

I'd like some clarification on the all-conference team:
When the coaches are voting, is there any sort of weight given to the conference games over the non-conference games? I only ask because Choice's in-conference stats are MUCH closer to Pierce's than their overall stats. If you take conference games more highly than the rest of the schedule, and you assume that Pierce is a definite all-conference player, I don't see why Choice wouldn't be second team.
I enjoy playing devil's advocate. I can't make any actual argument for who deserves to be on what team because I haven't seen a single NESCAC game yet this year...

New top 25 today, and Amherst got only 24 of the 25 first-place votes?
The horror!

I was sold on Walters early on last season when he had a big game against Brandeis. Part of the reason the rest of the conference (and country) hadn't noticed much of him was because his main role last season was to spell Dan Wheeler. Let's face it - once we got into the conference schedule and the postseason Dan logged a lot of minutes!
Someone who's seen the team live this year can probably answer my question: last year, Walters always went left with the ball (he's a lefty), and it boggled my mind why no team we played tried to force him right. Has he developed his right hand at all this year? Is that why he's come on of late?

I think that Williams' recent woes only hurt our QOWI if their record falls below a certain winning percentage threshold (66%?). Now, Williams' slide may hurt the Jeffs in the committee's eyes, but in my humble opinion it won't affect us too much if we win out.
