From Twitter. Appears UWEC is in no rush. Or the UW System red tape is holding them up.
relax. UWEC is going to name it's new head coach sometime in the next 48 hours.

UWEC still has issues at the guard position. No points from beyond the arc until late in the game.......no dribble penetration in the first half and terrible perimeter defense. A good "opening night" crowd had nothing to cheer about in the first half and for most of the 2nd half.
They have work to do!

That Missy Fremstad for the 'Golds sure has a motor.......she was beating Stout defenders down the floor last night and it's not like Stout is a bunch of slow-pokes or anything.

Did anybody see Monday's Leader-Telegram? UWEC asked WIAC commish Gary Karner if they could move Saturday's game times vs UW-Whitewater from 3pm and 5pm to 11am and 1pm. UW-Whitewater is coming to Eau Claire on Friday and the Packers play at 3:30 on Saturday. Karner told UWEC No and Karner got told off by the Leader-Telegram in their editorial section. Heaven forbid if a school should ever want to increase their basketball attendance.
I noticed this was mentioned on the Men's board and also on wissports so it's a hot topic right now.

Point beats Ripon 71-67 after being down at half 33-28. The Pointers bench was the difference.....outscoring Ripon's bench 32-8.

And did it ever occur to you they finished 8th in the 9 team conference and lost to the 9th place team in their final home game? UWEC will be lucky if they win 4 conference games next season.

Coach Buchanon at UW-Superior landed another blue chip recruit this week in Jake Smith from Rhinelander. This is in addition to getting Shane Manor from Altoona and word is that he is heavily pursuing Dan Culy from Rice Lake who will be Big River Conference POY after the dust settles this season.
How in the sam hill does Coach Gibbons even keep his job at UWEC with a below .500 record this season and letting all these solid recruits get away?? Has UWEC lost it's pride? Have the people of Eau Claire become aloof when it comes to basketball? UWEC has become an absolute disgrace to every basketball banner that hangs from the rafters at Zorn arena and it is time for a change!!!!!!

Superior upsets EC by 2
Did you see the paper tonight? It said it was the lowest attended game at Zorn in 39 years! Seriously, how does he keep his job losing at home to Superior in front of such few fans?!!!

well who's winning between Stout and EC tonight??? I can't find a score anywhere. I assume Stout is winning because EC hasn't won a road game in years!

UW-Superior got a nice commitment over the weekend out of Coach Gibbons backyard. 6'5 senior Shane Manor from Altoona hs is going up north next season. He's been averaging 17.5 pts per game and has made around 14-15 3 pt shots for the Rails this season. He's got good quickness and nice athleticism.

ahem. Sorry to interrupt this Whitewater pre-game celebration but has anyone on here heard that Menomonie head football coach Joe LaBuda will be the next football coach at UW-River Falls? Somebody on the wisfootball site mentioned that today but so far I haven't been able to confirm it. Thank you for reading and Go Warhawks!!

Great win for the Blugolds over Stout and to dominate the 2nd half like they did!! A huge confidence booster for the Blugolds and hopefully we will get a couple votes in the d3hoops.com poll next week. It feels great to finally beat Stout and teach them a lesson!!
