Looks like Pac, LC, WW, WM, and W are starting strong.  LC hung well with Portland.  WW had a strong win against Montana Tech. Should be a great conference race this year.  Looks like UPS, PLU, and Linfield will struggle. Strange to see those teams at the bottom.

Seems that Linfield has the first NWC win over Lewis & Clark.    Linfield better than you thought, or L&C worse?

Still haven't recovered from the game on Saturday.   Was a good first half.  Can't believe our O Line melted down like that!  Defense still looked pretty good, but you wouldn't know it by the score -- probably since the Linfield D kept taking it from our Offense & either scoring or setting it up.  Bearcats will still probably have a good season, but getting beat by the Lutes one week & Linfield the next -- somebody needs to work on that scheduling.

Linfield will represent the NWC well in the playoffs.  They seem to be clicking on all cylinders.  I doubt the Lutes will get in -- that's just the way of the West.

My one complaint from the game was that the announcer didn't seem to know who from WU was who especially when it came to kickers.  We have #22 & #29 and he kept saying "Kyle Derby (29)" with whatever kick or punt it was.  It IS nice to be able to hear the announcer, however.  Nice sound system.

I'm going to go drown my sorrows in Hurricane news coverage on CNN.   Really thought this was going to be a different year for the Bearcats!

PLU throws an INT and can't score, again....

Yay, Cody P.    Go Bearcats!

Any suggestions from Lute fans (or anyone else, really) on good places to eat near Sparks?

Or more importantly, where NOT to eat! ;D

I didn't know that ugly new home uniforms are now all the rage in D3?  Who knew?

They ARE ugly uniforms, but I really, really like the New Offensive Coordinator & starting QB for Willamette.   The helmets are cool.

But WC11 -- you were probably the ONLY person in the room to know the answer!!  You should've had another beer & answered the questions.

Bluenote, did you miss the part where there is a new Offensive Coordinator?

No I didn't miss that..... but it's been rumored that they are mixing it up and will include elements of the fly but not exclusively...wasn't the current "head coach" last years O coordinator? Maybe he still has a say in the offense scheme? So you are confirming that they've completely dropped the fly?

Not confirming anything.   In football, as just about everything else in life, I know just enough to make me dangerous! :)    Yes, Fowles was the Offensive Coordinator.

Yeah, BCP, Alvorado -- that's the one.  My bad.

Bluenote, did you miss the part where there is a new Offensive Coordinator?

Willamette has a new head coach, a new starting QB and is coming off a pretty poor season.  They may be undervalued but it's hard to know what they will look like this year.  I think I would have ranked the conference almost identically to the way the coached did though I may have switched PLU and Whitworth just based on how they played Linfield last season......

Unless you know something I don't, Brian Widing is back for his senior season and will be the starting QB for the Bearcats this year.  Also, according to the Willamette athletics Facebook page, Terrell Malley is back with the team as well after taking last year off.
Oops--my bad--I thought Widing was a Sr. last year.....nevermind :)

Willamette does have a "new" head coach, but he's been part of the coaching staff for 16 years and most of the other coaches are back, too.   There is a new Offensive Coordinator -- will be interesting to see what he brings to the mix.   I'm glad Terrell Malley decided to play football, again.    I also heard that Juan Alvarez is back -- thought he graduated, but he has one more year.   Looking forward to the start of the season.   Might have to go watch Menlo @ Linfield because I'm not flying to Texas for a football game.

Yea you are probably right  sometimes I get confused when I do my Electric Longies !!!!  I guess to keep it simple 8-0 then 9-0 .  By the way how is yor bearkittie math ?

Peace out

Correct me if I'm wrong -- but the Bearcats were the only team all season to keep Linfield at 20 or less.  Good luck in the playoffs.   See you next year.   Will kill you in basketball.   :)

Weatherman says 60% chance of rain at Catdome on Saturday......Cat's get slippery and tough to catch when the rain is coming down.  Pios head for their tents to get out of the rain.  No plowing the fields when it's pouring down rain.

I thought it was 30% for Saturday & 60% for Sunday.    Either way, rain or dry, I wonder if L&C will bring their streaker to the party???  Unless, of course, he got arrested last week -- couldn't tell if the Campus Cops caught up with him or not.    He ran pretty fast!
