The NorfFielders might be in some trouble. Zorro's getting a couple visits from the tooth fairy and Sutherland's going to miss some time. The Knights looked really tired, especially for coming off a month long break. Without much depth, I'm worried they won't be able to survive the annual Guy Kalland beat down which usually causes the boys of the double C's to run out of gas in the second half of the season. T-Bird/Rip Hamilton should be shooting at least twice as much as he does, I don't even think he could see the rim on that second half baseline jumper.

If you've been reading the papers recently, you know that I've been very busy. You all laughed when the NorfField Mafia came onto the scene a few years ago, but now the town has a drug problem and is removing their mayor from office (sounds like my family has been pretty successful lately). Anyway, I've been out of the state for a while and am only in town for a bit. Is Carleton at St Thomas the game of the weekend, or should I turn my attention elsewhere?

First of all, I'd like to welcome myself back to the board (please hold your applause). Next, I'd like to welcome back T-Byrd, the real Tommy Drake who appears to be out of his sophomore slump (21% from beyond the arc last season) and is consistently yet quietly returning his offensive game to the level that showed so much potential as a freshman. Speaking of freshman, big ups to Bryan Rossett for making a huge back cut and bucket to send the game into overtime. I thought that the Knights, especially the youngsters really tried to force a run against Augsburg and it didn't work; the patience really seemed to pay off, and it also helped that the Knights decided to rebound this game. That's all I got, piece(s) out from the Nasty NorfField.

If you skate by NorfField on your way down and are willing to pull me in my red wagon I'd be more than happy to pay for the tolls.

Would someone in the St Paul area check the UST lost and found for my voice? I lost it Thursday down here against the Gusties, but found it under my bed in time for Saturday (k)nights game. This time I can't find it anywhere: I looked in the car, in my desk, in empty beer cans...I have no idea where it is! I really need it by Wednesday because I have a presentation.

We'll have food and such as well, but will definitely stop by for some of these world famous burgers. What time are you guys all planning on getting out there?

I'm having a hard time getting sure commitments, and I don't want to leave you hanging with guesses, so the concensus between those of us who usually run the grill outs down here is that we'll take care of ourselves with burgers and such.
Looking foward to a grand event tomorrow

I forgot to mention this last (k)night but I did want to say hats off to the Gustavus faithful...our crowd control was a little nervous because of their traditional following, but they cheered hard throughout the game, were classy, and provided a great playoff atmosphere. In addition, at the end of the game they were able to engage in friendly conversation with the Knights crowd instead of taking the Ole approach and trying to fight everyone on the way out. I was truly impressed with the support and class of the Gusties crowd.

Word on campus is there will be at least two busloads of Knights coming up for the game. I know the Carleton faithful have been planning tailgating for a little while now, but I'm sure we can all get along. I'll try to figure out an estimate of how many will be there for the festivities as opposed to just showing up before gametime.

The Gusties were going for steals and TWizzler was called for a reach in near the top of the key. Goose responded with an angry movement that seemed suspicious from my angle, but I didn't have a good view of what exactly happened.
Afterwards, those with a better view were adamant he threw a punch - which, after the whistle, is grounds for an automatic ejection and, possibly, a suspension. None of the refs reacted and all told Hanson they saw nothing of the sort.
I was standing around the top of the key and although I'll be the first to admit my bias and the fact that I had 14 uh...brats in me from tailgaiting, I don't even recall any suspicious movements. Zoro has been known to throw a few elbows here and there but I don't think he'd throw a punch, especially after getting ripped apart for the retalitory elbow against St Mary's. Once again, biased, but I'm not sure it was a big deal

MVP chants were filling West Gym everytime Forkrud had the ball.
Knights win despite not scoring a field goal in the last 8 minutes with Zorro and Phillips not having their best performances.
