Hasn't made a huge difference, but you can switch your quality from high to low by right clicking if you haven't figured that out already.

Men's soccer / Re: MIAA

Yeah, it was a great game.  After being a life long knights basketball fan, i decided this year to try to get out to more soccer games...and i'm glad i did.  I thought the Vegter brothers look a dangerous combination...in fact that whole second wave of 4 offensive substitutions seems almost as dangerous if not more dangerous than the starters.

According to some of the Calvin faithful around the stands, the injury the keeper went down with was a back injury that he'd been struggling for a little while.  Who know what that means going forward.

The other concerning thing was when Lawrence Murray went down with a groin injury halfway through the second half...it didn't seem to hurt us a lot, but i really like Murray's hustle/positioning from what i've seen so far.

After that showdown, i'm almost tempted to make the trip down to hope for the rematch.

oh man, what a ridiculous game.  First of all let me let everyone know that i am going to give an unbiased account, even though I am a huge Calvin fan.

First of all let me say that I think Olivet out played my knights the whole game.  Not only did we force shots, but we also had a large amounts of bad turnovers.

Ok, now the refing.  I only remember seeing one of these refs before, and i have always thought this guy to be one of the worse refs in the league.  Yes, the bad calls went both ways, but the timing of the Olivet bad calls were well unfortunate.

Especially the last series of calls.  First a probable foul gone uncalled on a three pointer, and then a questionable hand-check call.  This set olivet's coach off.  He did his best to restrain himself by actually hugging his assistant coach and burying himself behind him.  The ref was right there and decided to give him a crucial tech.  All i'm saying is i understand his frustration.

Going back earlier in the game to the tech on Dozie.  He definitely had a case.  The foul was almost definitely on the other Olivet player, and the ref got the wrong guy.

At the end of the day I would have much rather seen Calvin win a clean game.  My heart goes out to the Olivet fans who have seen their team's season end in an unfortunate way.

I have to say that i'm a little dissapointed in the top 25.  As mentioned earlier, it is hard to make a case for Albion being ahead of Calvin.  It is also easy to dismiss Calvin when looking at the record alone.  The fact that early in the season they played some d2 games and NAIA teams with a growing young team seems to have marred there image in the eyes of the voters.  It doesn't matter because the only ranking that matters is the regional rankings before the selection, which Calvin should be at least second, and if they win out...you could make a good case for first.

Not to mention only one loss to a division 3 opponent...Hope.

So, this is it.  I've been reading the posts for a while and finally feel that it's time to graduate, to take that next step.  That is, to move on to actually posting about why DVS shouldn't be playing for GVW or KVS or in the MIAA at all.  In fact, I could even talk about my negative personal experience with DVS, but this story we will save for another post.  I have always dreamed of exclusively using three letter acronyms for names and endlessly lamenting the disintegrating eyesight of certain MIAA refs in a more public forum.

Let's get to the point of my first post.  I would love to go on a long tirade on the intricacies of the DVS situation, but I feel that that may have already been done...a few times...ok...a lot of times.  However, my mission today is solely a fact finding one.  On to my questions.

While looking through the D3 hoops schedules I noticed that my Knights have some of the same regional opponents as Hope, but those games don't show up in the regional rankings.  I was wondering why this was.

Also, the 200 mile rule was mentioned a few times in previous posts and I haven't really been able to discern the exact nature of this rule.  So if anyone would be able to clarify either of these two issues for me I would be very appreciative.

Thanks again.
