calvin did a lot of standing around and trying to do things as individuals.  hope had great ball movement.  they also hit the offensive glass very well.

KVS was totally correct.  There was no passion or spirit on Calvins team.  first half defense was nonexistant.  the big 3 for hope came up big!

Two weeks ago the Hope fans just wanted to talk about the dinner reservations they were making in Salem.  Don't forget to cancel those hotel reservations so you don't get charged!

anyone else think that veldhouse should have passed off to draayer?  it was calvin's chance to get the game.

i did a search on yahoo for "flying dutch".  came back with:

School in the midwest with lots of runner-up banners

players from the teams only get 2 tickets

Sure is funny how Hope fans are already picking out what restaurants to eat at in Salem Va, before the tournament has even started.  I'm sure potential opponents love to hear all of the talk about getting to the 5th game of the tournament before they have even beat anyone.

good point about coaches need to protect their teams. however  last nite, the olivet coach lost his focus and literally spent all of his last 5 minutes talking/screaming to the refs and never coached his players on the floor.

maybe the miaa is no different than anyone else.  but many of them have that bobby knight mentality and it really ends up costing their teams.  just coach your players and leave the poor behavior and crying to the uninformed fans in the stands!

Was sitting right behind the Olivet coach the entire night.  During his last five minutes of the game, he quit coaching his players and directed 100% of his comments to the referees.  Let the refs ref, and the coaches should coach.

He quit on his team and spent all of his time focused and arguing with the refs.  Never talked to his players on the court during his last five minutes.

Olivet players will always have to wonder what might have been...6 technical free throws and losing by six.

In general, the coaches in the MIAA complain way too much.  The refs should not take so much from some of these guys.  coaches, just coach your players and set a good example for your fans.  Maybe they'll act with a little more class also!!
