As an alum of Carroll, I felt the need to reply to the previous post.  I think you need to get your facts straight before you point fingers.  I do know that the Coach was ill the entire weekend.  As for Seewald and Hoewisch (Note: Correct spelling!) starting or not, did they play most of the minutes?  You are right, this is a good team, and I'm very excited to see what January and February bring for this talented group!

Go Pios!

Looks like the Carroll women are not rebuilding, only reloading.  They had a great win over #11 ranked University of Chicago yesterday in Waukesha.  I'm sure the young team learned a lot in their early defeat against Lakeland.  This will be a fun team to watch!

Congrats to Carroll's Crystal Hoewisch for being named to the d3hoops.com 1st team All-America!  She continues to amaze and we all can't wait for another great season!  Also congrats to Carroll and Lake Forest for being named in the pre-season top 25 polls, bringing some more national recognition to the MWC along with Hoewisch!

Good Luck to all MWC teams as play opens this weekend.

I would also like to congratulate Lake Forest and Carroll on making it to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament.  Both did a great job of representing the MWC.  Also, a special congratulations to Crystal Hoewisch of Carroll College for being named MWC player of the year.  Great season Pios, can't wait until next year!

I just saw the regional rankings, congratulations to LFC at #1 and the Carroll College Lady Pioneers at #4 in the Central region, one of the toughest regions in the nation!  Good press for the MWC!  Also, good win against the Redhawks last night, Pios!

I don't think it takes ONE win to be put in the top 25, how about the 18 that they have won, and two of the 3 losses were to top 25 teams.  Your point is taken, although if you look at the schedule they have beat some tough teams i.e. Eau Claire, who has beat some of the teams who are in the poll , not to mention the other top teams in the MWC.  Wouldn't you think their record at least warrants others receiving votes or some recognition.  Also remember that as Calvin sits at #2, Carroll was the team that knocked them out in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year, in which both teams rosters are still pretty much the same.

First off, Congratulations to LFC on the great season that they are having, they do deserve all of the credit that they are receiving, but I do believe that Carroll is also deserving of some credit.  Last year, it took all the way until the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament to prove that that they were a legitimate top 25 team and to get d3hoops to recognize them.  Now this year, they sit at 18-3, 13-1 in conference (a better record than last year) with NO recognition once again.  Let me make this official they are a top 25 team, in addition, Crystal Hoewisch, a junior pre-season All-American has made the d3hoops team of the week TWICE and another junior, Kim Wickert, just made it last week.  Therefore, this shows their balance and ability to have some of the top athletes in the nation, but yet NO team recognition.  Anyway... this team deserves national recognition, stay tuned for additional proof.
