Methinks we got carried away a bit.  I never said anything close to the previous post.  It should be a great game.  However, the original comment  carried a patronizing tone that seems to be prominent around D3 concerning MC.  Maybe I am wrong.  Worse yet, maybe the Choctaws have earned it, dropping the last two sweet 16 opportunities, losing to Lewis and Clark at home in the second round.  My point was simply that MC was made to sound like the underdog, again, when in fact they are the highest ranked team entering this foursome. 

And yes, it should be a classic!  Any chance WVC sets up a video stream?

it just entertaining, nothing more. 

On another note, thanks for appreciating my "Sam Beatty" comment on the other board.  The Maryville fans may not have gotten it.

I am indeed an alum, transplanted to North Carolina.  I did not play, but I was friends with leaders of both the men's and women's teams of the late 90's and early 2000's.  I have kept up marginally through the years, and I still love to hear about the Choctaws doing well.  I continue to be amazed at how much respect they do not get.  Choke as they might (see last year's sweet sixteen game) occasionally, Mississippi College is a dangerous team, and, from what I have seen through the streaming video, probably the best to come through any institution in this conference in some time, maybe ever.  I have my heart set on a national championship for the Choctaws, and anything less would be disappointing. 

Lastly, I appreciate the distinction, diehard.

How profound....the #3 team in the nation is "not a cakewalk", to paraphrase.  With all due respect  to the ODAC, you make it seem like Mississppi College is not the favorite in this bunch.

Congrats to the Choctaws.  The only reason they beat Maryville is cuz Sam Beatty was hurt, but we'll take it however we can get it.

The fouls are lop-sided, but, isn't that consistent with what we know about both teams?  A few calls were missed on both sides as well.  I may be biased, but the Choctaws again look like the much better team.  Announcers now saying VWC hangs on for the win.  We're going to Norfolk.

We're a loyal bunch.  If you're keeping up with the board right now, what's your first half eval?

Secondly, you article begs the question:  Did the registrars office realize you had some Choctaw blood when they let you in?    See, deep down, you bleed blue and old gold.

In a slightly related note, how about those Ole Miss Rebels, picked last in the SEC West, finishing with at least a share of the West Title!  Go Rebs! (this is an acceptable substitute.)

Pardon my ignorance, but did McMurry lose the "Indians" nickname?  As previously stated, I usually only come out of my hole at playoff time.  If they indeed did, what are the possible replacements?

Lest I be de-Karmatized again, the last comment was merely a joke.  In all sincerity, I applaud those willing to call out the comments about Beatty.  I am sure he is a great player, but enough is enough.  MC played one half of great basketball, and one half of mediocre basketball, and won the game on a good effort, not the misfortune of an opponent.  They've done it 26 (?) times this year, and to say the last one was due to anything other than being a great basketball team is demeaning to the hard work of that group of young men.  Tonight should be a great game, and I'll go in expecting the same result as last night.  Go Choctaws (again, a reminder, "Chocs" is not an acceptable substitute for Choctaws, per the Choctaw tribe of Mississippi)  

Does Maryville have any hurt players they can use to console themselves after a Clinton loss?
