Figures an Amherst guy would make a post like this... Formerbant, do we know for sure Taylor is coming back? A great point that Tufts lost Stovell, who was more than just a post player, and got better. I see Tufts and Amherst at the top again with trinity and bates behind them. Williams, with a post player brings up the #5 hole. Conn had some very good games last year, but also struggled against the likes of Colby. Tim, what are you up to these days anyway?

2006-2007 early predictions:

1st tier:
Amherst- Must replace key players...BUT there is a lot of talent to choose from

Trinity- WIll taylor and others be enough to get them over the top?

Bates- The get the Jeffs and Trinity(?) in maine.

2nd Tier(in no particular order):
Williams- Can SOMEONE score in the post...If so then they will be part of the 1st tier.
Conn- They could be next years Tufts...nah!!

Tufts- Can they maintain the consistency w/o Martin

pretenders:
Wes
Colby- Cohen can't do it all
Bowdoin
Middlebury

In Regards to recruiting... How good can a player be if he applies to schools where he won't play. How many schools did Rose or Shalvoy apply to where they would " play intramurals" 6'7 is great, but 6'7 and soft won't cut it in the Nescafe`.

Regardless of who joins, think about how sick the nescac guards will be next year. With Olson, Shalvoy, Ray, Black, Shepard, Martin all maning the points for the top 4 teams again. Bradley at Bowdoin is back. The team that gets the most out of it's bigmen will win the league.

Interesting that people are putting tufts down again, I do believe the same thing happend last year when they lost Stovell, Martin stepped up, maybe people will start to realize that its the system, much like amherst's, that as long as you have scorers you'll be fine. With Weitzen, Black, Shepard, kumf and o'keefe all returning and more experianced the jumbos will be fine. Expect Grauer, Gallant and Sullivan to go home and work on their games, the system will be fine. But by all means, keep sleeping on the Bo's.

Amherst blaming the refs would be like Tufts blaming a fluke shot on them not being in the final four themselves. I watched the game and i didn't see the refs throwing the ball all over the gym in the 1st half and taking 30 foot shots during the stretch run. It was a great game and it's a shame someone had to lose it, sorry the NESCAC couldn't get a W, but it's a great season for the league with a couple classics between the jumbos and the jeffs.  The NABC is all political... congrats to beford on a great career.

Any thoughts on the league's out look next year.  I look for Tufts and Bates to challenge Amherst at the top. Trinity and Bowdoin should have some drop off, Look for Conn College to jump up and Williams should be really good again, with everyone but newton back. Colby and Middlebury should continue to be one man shows. Did I forget anyone.... nope!

Walzy is most likely Amherst's own Pele` impersonator Mike Wohl...

Good luck to Amherst, it'd be good for the league to get another title, however, i'll be rooting for Wittenberg... something about the purple...

Looks like Tufts was a big wake-up, and the guys are clicking again.

I would say to call Tufts a wake-up, doesn't give the credit to Tufts. Tufts would have done the same thing to Fisher, The Nescac was sending a Team out of the region. The Amherst/Tufts III was the best game I have seen this year, to say that simply Amherst was "sleeping" is a joke.

Unless Nick Bennett is pulling double duty... He's also listed as an assistant at his alma mater.. that's a heck of a commute from Upstate NY to Wisconsin every day. I hope he has one of those new gas hybrids

Jumbos over Amherst 92-89

Black hits a deep 3 to win it

Utica over Fisher 81-76

I don't care what HAS happend this year, it tourney Time and Utica Dominated a WPI team that everyone had ranked really high.

Any more tix left for the Tufts/Amherst game?
