And the next year, 1984, Linfield overcame a 22 point deficit against Northwestern to win the National Title.

Any word on a new Lutes coach?

Me too.  I've got a nice 2.5 hour drive.  It'll be HOT, y'all bring sunscreen.

I hate this time of year!  Weather's not good, fishing's not good, it gets dark too early and it's not football season.

I went to a kicking camp at PLU in 1980-ish (Ray Pelfrey).  I seem to remember seeing EMAL and hearing about it from coaches and players while I was there.  I could tell it meant something special to the PLU program even though I was a naïve, wet behind the ears high school player.  But I still chose Linfield three years later  ;D ;D ;D

Tiger fan- Back in the day, when Linfield was "just" a NAIA team, one of the toughest games of the year was the Alumni game as the first game/scrimmage.  I can't tell you how many All-Americans suited up to show the young pups a thing or two.  If y'all want to come scrimmage us, I'm good with that!

On another note- In 1984 Linfield played lowly Pacific to a 2-0 win.  Yes, 2-0.  Linfield went on to win the National Championship that year.  Familiarity breeds competitiveness, I believe.

Swede- If you are a handy-man, go to rocklerdotcom and look at their Murphy bed kits.  You can also just buy the hardware.

I'd really like to get a copy of Frosty's book, "Make the Big Time Where You Are" to use with my sixman football team and my own boys.  Went to Amazon, found it, but really don't want to pay $90+.  What's the deal with that?  Does anyone have any ideas on how to get a copy without breaking the bank, or have an extra copy laying around?  I'm sure there are some nuggets of wisdom in there that would directly apply to my team.

Planning my trip to Abilene this fall.  Can't wait......

Being a Linfield alum, it pains me to say watch out for the Lutes.  The Lutes have handed Linfield 4 or their 5 loses on the season.  The top half of the bracket looks tough with the #3, #4 and #6 teams seeded.  It would be cool to have an All-NWC final.  Go Linfield.
