Thundermike,
How much did Andy step up his game against NCC? As I wrote Andy had problems with smaller build and shorter players, he was slower, agility wasn't there, and against more physical players he was average. I'm basing that off games in person and DVD's

Scrub023,
If you are talking about things you know stick to the powerhouse conference MWC that your beloved Lawrence is in. Are you saying if they had Andy they wouldn't have lost to Ripon then? That's giving Andy respect, or maybe Marian from the NAC ? What's up with screen name of scrub ? from the playing days?

Scrub023,
Good way to start a response to a post bwahhhh,I have watched him play for 2 years so it's not like I am forming an opinion on 1 game. Good player yes great no , All-American no way. When matched against a physical player close to his size he becomes very average player, really good players step up their game against the best and I didn't see that .Two years on 2nd team CCIW all-conference is an honor I am not ripping on him but don't try to turn him into something he isn't. Brent Ruch great yes, only drawback with him was bad knees so we may have never know how great he could have been.All-American I think so, better than some of the other area big men who went D1 and became practice dummies or limited playing time. all around player.Getting back to Andy, I watched smaller build and shorter #5 players control and out play him.Going bust at the end of his career I don't agree with that but you could tell it was taking a toll on him. I have been watching small college basketball since 70's so I have an idea what I'm talking about. Good thing you didn't assume because you have the first part of it down .

Thundermike,
How can you call Andy Wiele a great player? He was lucky to make 2nd all-conference( 3rd team yes) with all the hype about him bulking up and being a stud he disappeared in more than 60 % of the games and the amount of time on the floor he looked winded. He is a good player 3rd team yes, good board man at 6'8 should be.

AndOne,
I posted about tickets on the pick 'em sight by mistake ,the question was does NCC get a block of tickets to sell to parents and students?. I heard it will be hard to get in Friday night.

Question to all
When do the selections of the CCIW all-conference teams come out? ???

CCIWfan,
Depending on what type of injury you have depends where you are for recovery time , I know one player who is just getting stronger after being hurt in Oct. You can't make general statements

It's interesting to see the different posts for ths NCC-Wheaton game last night, as a Cardinal fan it would be easy to say the officals were a big part of the Cardinals loss. In part they may have taken the Cardinals out of their game with cheap calls(Wheaton had a few cheap calls also) but you can't miss shots or get sloppy with the ball.As far as Cardwell knocking Rogers down with an elbow(knocked him back not down) when you elbow someone in the face after the play that's when tempers flare. Kent got a few elbow blocks on his defender, but getting back to the bigger picture the Cardinals didn't look ready to attack the basket.Mitch Raridon & Mark Adams did a nice job. Friday night will be the game the Cardinals can show who they are....No looking back

To all people who post here,
Today is the 1st anniversary of the shootings at NIU, if you could pass that on and pray for or just a moment of silence to remember those who are still hurting. It still bothers me to think it could happen again or at any one of our CCIW schools.

                                                                                        Thank you.

Titan Q,
You list 4 players that could be first team, if Wiele is on there why not Rogers ? His numbers are right up there with Wiele but he is shooting better .525 FG and ppg 14.3

Late nite,
Short handed is having players UNAVAILABLE,example North Park played a couple games short handed due to player problems on or off the court making them UNAVAILABLE for the game. Kent Raymond was AVAILABLE for limited playing time from what I read, playing more than planned by the coaches. IMHO I am glad he played a limited time because I would hate to see him push it too hard and take the chance of further damage or something more serious.

Late Night,
What do you mean WC short handed?Who were they missing? Kent Raymond playing 20 mins isn't short-handed, him not playing at all is short-handed.

wheels81,
What happened when Drennan fouled out and Rogers picked up Wiele?I didn't see Wiele do much more than when Chris was guarding him , both had some help in the post but not double teamed like you were saying. Both NCC post players hit 20 and 18 pts. so what does that say also?

Let's not turn this into a "how bad the refs" or "Kent Raymond was not himself tonight" but look at what happened.... NCC came to play last night.Chris Drennan had 16 pts in the first half, Matt Rogers had 20 pts for the game, Mitch Raridon hit some nice shots at the right time, Dean Prince ran the floor like he was in charge, DJ opened the game with a very nice dunk. The Cardinals played like a team and earned the win don't take away from that. Why is it easier to give excuses than to give credit.
